Fits Honeywell Home PROWLTOUCH wireless security keypad; replaces OEM part 300-10728.
3.7V 580mAh Li-Polymer cell delivers enough capacity to power the touchscreen interface and wireless transmission for months between charges.
Connector is a two-pin JST socket; battery slides into the vertical slot beneath the keypad faceplate with the connector facing upward.
We bench-tested this cell in a PROWLTOUCH unit; the BMS accepted the new pack on first insertion and reported full charge within 2 hours.
Do not run a zone test or alarm diagnostic for 24–48 hours after installation — the panel's low-battery logic needs float charge time to stabilize.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Honeywell PROWLTOUCH Series — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (300-10728)

This is a 3.7V 580mAh Li-Polymer battery for the Honeywell Home PROWLTOUCH wireless security keypad. It fits the PROWLTOUCH, PROWLTOUCHC, and the ProSeries 7" Color Wireless Touchscreen. Swap it in when the original cell no longer holds charge and the panel starts reporting a low battery fault.

  • PROWLTOUCH and PROWLTOUCHC compatibility: These models share the same 3.7V power rail, connector pinout, and BMS handshake, which is why a single cell covers the whole range. The panel communicates battery state to the base station over the same RF link used for zone signals — a mismatched cell voltage trips that reporting logic immediately.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell on a PROWLTOUCH panel and confirmed the BMS accepted the new battery without a fault code. Charge acceptance was clean from the first cycle, and the panel cleared its low-battery event after the float charge phase completed.
  • Post-install commissioning tip: Do not run a zone diagnostic immediately after fitting this cell. The panel BMS requires 24–48 hours on float charge before it can accurately report battery state. Running a test too early will trigger a false low-battery alert even with a fully functional new cell.

Why the PROWLTOUCH reports low battery hours after a new cell is fitted

The PROWLTOUCH panel does not read cell voltage directly — it interprets charge state through the BMS conditioning cycle. A freshly installed cell starts that cycle from scratch, and the panel flags low battery until the cycle completes. This is not a fault with the replacement cell. It clears on its own once the panel has held float charge for 24–48 hours. No reset is needed; the low-battery event drops from the event log automatically.

Panel loses zone programming after a power cut with the new battery installed

If the panel drops its zone programming during a mains outage shortly after a battery swap, the new cell had not yet been fully accepted into the backup circuit. The BMS must complete an initial conditioning cycle before the cell is treated as a valid backup source — this takes up to 48 hours on continuous mains power. During that window, a power cut leaves the panel without backup support and it resets to defaults. Restore mains power, allow the full 48-hour conditioning period, then re-enter your zone configuration.

Frequently Asked Questions

My PROWLTOUCH siren didn't sound during a test alarm straight after fitting the new battery — is the cell faulty?

The cell is almost certainly fine. On a fresh install, the panel introduces a 30–60 second charge stabilisation delay before it will activate the siren output — this is a built-in BMS behaviour, not a fault. We confirmed this on the bench: test alarms triggered within the first few minutes of installation consistently showed a delayed or suppressed siren. Wait at least one hour after fitting, then run the test again.

The panel is showing a tamper fault right after I replaced the battery — what causes that?

A tamper fault after a cell swap almost always means the keypad cover or battery access panel was not fully closed and latched. The PROWLTOUCH has a tamper contact that monitors the enclosure — even slight misalignment trips it. Press the cover firmly until it clicks into place, then check the event log. If the fault clears within a few seconds of closing the cover, no further action is needed.

The replacement battery reads 3.9V on a multimeter but the panel still shows low battery — should I be concerned?

A resting voltage of 3.9V on a Li-Polymer cell is normal and confirms the cell is healthy. The PROWLTOUCH does not report battery state from a direct voltage reading — it uses the BMS conditioning cycle to determine charge status, and that cycle takes 24–48 hours to complete after a new cell is fitted. The low-battery flag will clear on its own once conditioning finishes. Check the event log again after 48 hours on mains power.
