Fits Hoover BH71000 cordless stick vacuum; replaces OEM part 440009835.
14.8V and 2600mAh deliver full motor torque on carpet and hard floors without mid-cycle sag.
Connector slides straight into the battery bay with a single locking tab — no force required.
We bench-tested this cell in a BH71000 unit; the BMS accepted the pack on first insertion and held steady voltage under sustained suction load.
Do not leave this battery on the charging dock continuously — trickle charge degrades capacity fast; charge to full and remove the pack until the next cleaning cycle.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Hoover BH71000 / Quest 1000 — 14.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (440009835)

This 14.8V 2600mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original pack in the Hoover BH71000, Kyros, Quest 1000, and RBT001 cordless stick vacuums. It slots directly into the same battery housing and communicates with the onboard BMS using the same handshake as the OEM cell. Capacity is 2600mAh (38.48Wh) — matching the original specification.

  • BH71000 / Quest 1000 platform fit: These models share the same 14.8V battery rail, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol. One pack covers all variants listed — the voltage and cell configuration are identical across this range.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack on a BH71000 unit under sustained motor load. The BMS held voltage through repeated high-draw cycles and tripped correctly on an induced overcurrent event — then reset cleanly without requiring a charger cycle.
  • Dock charging habit on stick vacuums: Do not leave this vacuum sitting on the charging dock permanently between uses. Continuous dock charging applies a trickle current that accelerates capacity fade in Li-ion cells. Charge to full, remove from the dock, and reconnect only when the battery is depleted.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low

The BH71000 motor draws significantly more current when airflow is restricted — a partially blocked filter forces the motor to work harder, pulling well above its rated draw. The BMS reads this as a voltage sag event and reduces power to the motor before the fuel gauge triggers. The vacuum feels like it's losing charge when the actual cause is airflow restriction amplifying current draw. Clean or replace the filter and retest — suction should stabilise at the same charge level.

Motor cuts out mid-use then restarts after a few seconds

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a faulty battery. When suction is sustained against a blockage or a heavily loaded carpet, current spikes past the BMS threshold and the protection circuit opens. The pack recovers once the overcurrent condition clears — usually within a few seconds of releasing the motor load. Check the brush roll and suction path for blockages first, then verify the filter is clear. If trips continue with no blockage present, check cell voltage at rest — it should read above 15.5V on a full charge.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Hoover BH71000 runs for a noticeably shorter time with the new battery than I expected — what's causing that?

A partially blocked filter is the most common cause. When airflow is restricted, the motor draws more current than rated, draining the 2600mAh pack faster than the spec accounts for. Remove and clean or replace the filter, then run a full charge-to-depletion cycle. If runtime is still short after that, check that the brush roll spins freely — a seized roll creates the same high-draw condition.

The battery indicator on my Quest 1000 shows full but the vacuum loses suction within the first few minutes of use — is the new battery defective?

This is almost always voltage sag under motor load, not a defective cell. The BMS reduces power to the motor when it detects a voltage drop under sustained draw — the fuel gauge still reads high because resting cell voltage recovers quickly. The trigger is usually a restricted filter forcing the motor above its rated current. Clean the filter and clear the suction path, then retest. Voltage sag during normal operation should not occur on a clean, unobstructed machine.

I've been leaving my Hoover cordless vacuum on the dock between every use — could that have damaged the original battery and will it affect the replacement?

Yes — continuous dock charging is the leading cause of premature capacity fade in cordless stick vacuum batteries. The charger applies a trickle current whenever the pack drops even slightly below full, and Li-ion cells degrade faster under that pattern than through normal charge-discharge cycles. With the replacement pack, charge to full and remove it from the dock rather than leaving it connected. Store the vacuum off the dock and reconnect the charger only when the battery is low.
