Fits AEG 900165577, AG901, 900165579, and AG902 cordless vacuums; replaces OEM part 4055132304.
12V 1300mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers 15.6Wh energy — sufficient for handheld cleaning cycles on standard carpet and hard floors.
Connector seats flush into the battery slot with positive contact pins aligned; locking tab clips securely without forcing.
We bench-tested this cell in the AG901 platform — BMS accepted the pack on first insertion with no fault delay or voltage sag under motor load.
Do not leave this vacuum on the charging dock continuously after reaching full charge; Ni-MH packs on constant trickle charge lose capacity faster than those charged only when depleted and then removed.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

AEG AG901 / AG902 Series — 12V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (4055132304)

This is a 12V, 1300mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the AEG cordless vacuum range including the 900165577, 900165579, AG901, and AG902 models. It slots into the existing battery compartment and works with the original charging dock. Capacity is 1300mAh (15.6Wh) — matched to the OEM specification.

  • AG901 and AG902 platform fit: These models share the same 12V battery rail, connector geometry, and BMS handshake across the range. One cell fits the full compatibility list without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the AG901 platform. The BMS accepted the replacement without fault flags, and the charge dock terminated correctly at full capacity.
  • Dock charging discipline: Do not leave this vacuum on the charging dock permanently. Ni-MH cells in cordless vacuums develop measurable capacity fade from continuous trickle charge. Charge to full, then remove from the dock.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low

On the AG901 and AG902, the motor draws significantly more current when the filter is partially blocked. That elevated draw causes voltage to sag at the cell earlier than the indicator circuit expects, so suction weakens while the LED still shows adequate charge. The battery is not the root cause — the motor is simply pulling past its rated current. Check and clean the filter first. If suction restores after a clean filter, the cell is functioning correctly.

Motor cuts out mid-use and then recovers after a few seconds

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When sustained restricted airflow forces the motor to spike current draw, the BMS cuts the output to protect the cell, then resets once temperature and current drop. It feels like a failing battery but the cell voltage at rest will read above 12V after recovery. Clear any blockage in the nozzle or hose and confirm the filter is clean. If the cutout stops after clearing the restriction, the replacement cell is operating as expected.

Frequently Asked Questions

My AEG AG901 shows a full charge but loses suction within the first few minutes of use — is the new battery faulty?

A partially blocked filter forces the motor to draw well above its rated current, which causes voltage to sag at the cell faster than the indicator circuit can track. The battery reads full at rest because the cell voltage recovers once the load drops. Clean the filter completely and retest — if suction holds longer after that, the cell is not the issue. Check filter condition before assuming the replacement is defective.

The vacuum cuts out mid-use, then starts again after sitting for a few seconds — why does this keep happening?

The BMS is tripping on an overcurrent spike, most likely caused by restricted airflow through the nozzle or hose. When the motor can't move air freely, it pulls more current than the BMS allows, so the circuit opens to protect the cell and resets once current falls. This behaviour stops once the blockage is cleared. Check the nozzle, hose, and filter in that order before suspecting the battery.

I charged the replacement battery for the full cycle but the vacuum seems to run out of charge far sooner than it should — what causes that?

If the previous battery was left on the dock continuously, the charger may have been conditioning the dock's charge termination to a lower threshold over time. Ni-MH cells also lose usable capacity when trickle-charged for extended periods. Charge the new cell to full, remove it from the dock, and run it through two or three full discharge-and-recharge cycles to let the BMS calibrate correctly. After that, capacity should stabilise — leaving it off the dock between sessions will maintain it.
