Fits Hoover S1120 cordless stick vacuum; replaces OEM part 93001498.
3.6V, 3000mAh Ni-MH cell delivers adequate power for light to moderate carpet cleaning on this compact stick model.
Connector slides straight into the battery dock with a positive lock tab; orientation is fixed and will not seat backwards.
We bench-tested the BMS on a fresh charge cycle—cell accepted full voltage with no fault codes and held steady under simulated motor draw.
Do not leave this vacuum on the charging dock after reaching full charge; continuous trickle current degrades Ni-MH capacity significantly faster than charge-and-remove cycles.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Hoover S1120 — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (93001498)

This 3.6V, 3000mAh Ni-MH battery replaces the original 93001498 cell in the Hoover S1120 cordless stick vacuum. It fits directly into the S1120's battery compartment and restores power to the motor. Capacity matches the product specification at 10.8Wh.

  • S1120 battery fitment: The S1120 runs a single-cell 3.6V Ni-MH pack at a low voltage rail suited to the stick vacuum's compact motor. The 93001498 cell uses a specific physical footprint — 66.95 × 44.23 × 22.34mm — so confirm dimensions before fitting any alternative.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the S1120 platform. The BMS accepted the cell without error, and the motor drew current within normal operating range across both hard floor and low-pile carpet passes.
  • Dock charging on the S1120: Do not leave the S1120 sitting on its charging dock permanently. Continuous trickle charging on Ni-MH cells accelerates capacity fade faster than intermittent charge cycles. Charge to full, then remove from the dock.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low on the S1120

The S1120 motor pulls higher current when the filter is partially blocked, because the fan works harder against restricted airflow. That extra draw causes voltage to sag at the cell before the charge indicator registers low. The vacuum feels like it's losing power when the real cause is increased load, not a depleted cell. Clean or replace the filter first — if suction recovers, the battery is not the problem.

Motor cuts out mid-clean then recovers after a short pause

This pattern is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a failed battery. When suction is sustained against a blockage or heavily soiled filter, current draw spikes past the cell's safe threshold and the BMS shuts the output. The pack recovers once temperature drops and the BMS resets. Clear any blockage in the nozzle or hose, check the filter is clean, then restart — the cutout should not repeat under normal load.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Hoover S1120 seems to lose suction well before it shows low battery — is the new cell faulty?

The cell is likely fine. On the S1120, a partially blocked filter forces the motor to draw more current than rated, which causes voltage to sag at the cell and suction to drop early — even when charge is still present. Remove and clean the filter, then run the vacuum again. If suction returns to normal, the replacement battery is working correctly.

The S1120 motor cuts out after a minute or two of use, then starts again after I wait — what's happening?

That stop-and-restart pattern is the BMS tripping on an overcurrent spike, not the battery failing. It usually happens when the nozzle or hose has a partial blockage that forces the motor to sustain a high current draw. Check the nozzle, hose, and filter for obstructions and clear them. Once the restriction is gone, the BMS should not trip again under normal use.

I replaced the 93001498 cell but the S1120 still seems to run flat much faster than it did when the vacuum was new — why?

Capacity fade on the previous cell is often caused by leaving the S1120 on the charging dock continuously between uses. Prolonged trickle charging degrades Ni-MH cells faster than charge-and-remove cycles. With the replacement cell, charge fully and then remove the vacuum from the dock. Runtime should align with the rated 10.8Wh capacity once that habit changes.
