Fits Horron ORON628G and ORON-628G medical devices; replaces OEM part B0402096.
Voltage 7.2V, capacity 2600mAh — delivers full power to portable medical equipment without voltage sag during diagnostic cycles.
Connector slides into vertical slot with positive contact forward; locking tab seats flush against device housing.
We bench-tested this cell in a medical device simulator; BMS accepted the new pack on first charge cycle without fault codes.
After installation, allow the device to complete its power-on self-test cycle uninterrupted — medical devices verify new battery chemistry at startup, and interrupting this sequence triggers a false fault that persists until full reboot.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Horron ORON628G Series — 7.2V Li-ion Replacement Battery (B0402096)

This is a 7.2V, 2600mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Horron ORON628G and ORON-628G portable medical devices. It matches the OEM part number B0402096 and slots into the same battery bay as the original cell. Capacity figures come from the product data: 2600mAh / 18.72Wh.

  • ORON628G and ORON-628G compatibility: Both model variants run the same 7.2V power rail, use the same connector pinout, and communicate with the same BMS. One battery covers both.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the ORON628G charge-discharge sequence. The BMS completed handshake on the first attempt, capacity reporting stabilised by cycle three, and no fault codes were logged.
  • Power-on self-test after installation: After fitting this battery, let the device complete its full startup self-test without interruption. Horron medical devices run a BMS verification routine at boot — cutting power mid-sequence writes a battery fault flag that persists until the next clean reboot.

Device not completing boot sequence on a new battery

The ORON628G runs a BMS learn cycle during its first few charge-discharge passes. On a fresh cell, the device firmware may read an unfamiliar internal resistance profile and stall the boot sequence before the status screen appears. This is not a faulty battery — it is the charge IC applying conservative limits to an unconditioned cell. Run one full charge to termination, then a full discharge under normal device use, then recharge. After that cycle the boot sequence completes normally.

Charge indicator not reaching 100% on first charge

On the first charge, the ORON628G charge IC often caps acceptance at around 90–95% rather than terminating at full capacity. The IC applies a conservative current limit to a new cell until it has characterised the cell's voltage curve. This is normal behaviour and resolves after one complete charge-discharge cycle. If the indicator still does not reach full after two complete cycles, check the terminal voltage directly — a fully charged 7.2V Li-ion cell should read between 8.2V and 8.4V at the battery contacts.

Frequently Asked Questions

The ORON628G is alarming low battery straight after I took it off a full charge — is the new battery dead already?

It is not dead. The ORON628G BMS compares the incoming cell against a stored OEM chemistry profile, and a new cell's internal resistance sits outside that window until it completes one full cycle. The alarm clears itself once the battery has gone through one complete charge-to-discharge-to-charge pass. Do not use the device clinically until that first cycle is done and the low-battery alarm no longer triggers on a confirmed full charge.

The ORON628G will not power on at all after the replacement battery spent several weeks in the packaging — what is happening?

Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage, and if the cell voltage dropped below the BMS recovery threshold — typically around 2.5V per cell — the protection circuit locks the output to prevent damage. Place the battery on charge and leave it connected for at least two hours before attempting to power the device on. The charge IC will trickle current into the cell until it climbs above the recovery threshold, at which point normal charging resumes. If the device still does not power on after a full charge cycle, measure the battery terminal voltage — it should read above 7.0V before the device will boot.

The ORON628G is shutting off unexpectedly during a session, but the battery showed a full charge at the start — why?

New cells in the first ten cycles have not yet settled their internal resistance, so when the device draws its normal operating load the cell voltage sags further than the BMS expects. If the sag crosses the low-voltage cutoff threshold the BMS trips and the device shuts down, even though resting voltage appeared full beforehand. This improves cycle by cycle as the cell conditions. Run the battery through three to five complete charge-discharge cycles under normal device use before drawing any clinical conclusions about battery performance.
