Fits HP Envy 17-3000 and Envy 17T-3200 models replacing VT06XL, HSTNN-IB3F, and TPN-I103 battery part numbers.
This 11.1V 7740mAh lithium-polymer cell matches OEM capacity and voltage for full system compatibility without adapter changes.
Connector plugs directly into the stock slot with identical pin layout and mechanical locking tab orientation on the motherboard.
We bench-tested this cell in an Envy 17-3200 — BMS accepted the handshake on first charge and fuel gauge tracked accurately across multiple discharge cycles.
After installation, run one full discharge to hibernation cutoff then charge uninterrupted to 100% to reset the BIOS battery learn cycle and clear health warnings.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

HP Envy 17-3000 Series — 11.1V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (VT06XL)

This is an 11.1V, 7740mAh lithium-polymer battery for the HP Envy 17-3000 and Envy 17T-3000 series 17-inch laptops. It replaces OEM part numbers VT06XL, HSTNN-IB3F, HSTNN-DB3F, and TPN-I103, among others. Swap it in when the original cell no longer holds charge or the system reports degraded battery health.

  • Envy 17-3000 and 17T-3200 compatibility: These models share the same 11.1V three-cell Li-Polymer platform, the same connector pinout, and the same BMS handshake protocol — so one cell covers the full range listed above without hardware modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on the Envy 17-3000 platform. The BMS negotiated correctly with the HP EC firmware, charge current ramped as expected, and the cell reached rated capacity without triggering a protection cutoff.
  • First-cycle calibration on the Envy 17-3000: After installing, run one full discharge until the laptop hibernates, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This forces the BIOS battery learn cycle to reset against the new cell and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap on this platform.

BIOS reporting poor battery health immediately after replacement

The HP Envy 17-3000 stores battery health data in its embedded controller, not the battery itself. When a new cell goes in, the EC still holds wear metrics from the old pack — so it flags poor health before the new cell has run a single cycle. This is an EEPROM data mismatch, not a fault with the replacement cell. Run the calibration cycle described above and the health status will update correctly within one to two full charge cycles.

Laptop shutting down at 20–30% charge shown on screen

This happens when the fuel gauge IC loses accuracy after a cell swap — the percentage on screen no longer maps to the actual voltage in the pack. Under full CPU and display load, the cell hits its low-voltage cutoff before the OS expects it, and the system shuts down hard. It is not a defective cell. Run two to three full discharge-to-hibernate and uninterrupted charge-to-100% cycles so the fuel gauge IC can re-calibrate against the new cell's voltage curve. After calibration, shutdown should not occur above 5–6% remaining.

Frequently Asked Questions

HP Battery Health Manager shows 0% or "unknown" right after I installed the new battery — is the cell dead?

No — the HP embedded controller is reading EEPROM data left behind by the old pack, not live data from the new cell. It takes one or two full learn cycles before the EC overwrites those old metrics. Discharge the laptop fully until it hibernates, then charge uninterrupted to 100%, and the health reading will update correctly.

Windows is showing 85.91Wh in Device Manager but the HP battery report says a different Wh rating — which one is right?

The 85.91Wh figure from Device Manager reflects the actual chemistry capacity of this cell and is correct. The HP battery report pulls its "design capacity" figure from the EEPROM, which may still carry the rated value written for the original OEM cell — those numbers differ slightly between manufacturers. After a full calibration cycle, both readings typically align closer to 85.91Wh.

The battery stops charging at 80% and won't go higher — is the cell faulty?

This is almost always the HP Battery Health Manager charge limit in BIOS, not a cell fault. HP ships many Envy-series units with an 80% charge cap enabled by default to reduce long-term cell wear. Open the HP BIOS (press F10 at startup), navigate to Power Management, and switch Battery Health Manager to "Let HP manage my battery charging" or set the threshold to 100%.
