Fits HP Split X2 13-M000 convertible laptops; replaces OEM part WR03XL and equivalent part numbers.
Delivers 11.1V and 2850mAh capacity; powers this 2-in-1 hybrid device through full work cycles on Li-Polymer chemistry.
Uses a standard connector and slides into the original battery slot with positive terminal facing the contact pins.
We bench-tested this cell in a Split X2 13-M000 with full CPU and display load; BMS held voltage steady through discharge cycles.
After install, fully discharge the laptop to hibernation shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears inaccurate health warnings.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

HP Split X2 13-M000 — 11.1V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (WR03XL)

This is an 11.1V, 2850mAh (31.64Wh) Li-Polymer battery for the HP Split X2 13-M000 convertible laptop. It replaces OEM part WR03XL and also covers STNN-IB5J, HSTNN-IB5J, TPN-Q133, and related part numbers. Fit extends to the Split 13-M114TU X2 and Pavilion 13-p100el X2 among others.

  • Split X2 platform compatibility: These models share the same 11.1V three-cell voltage rail, slim 4.40mm cell stack, and connector pinout. The BMS handshake uses the same EEPROM identifier across the 13-M000 series, so the replacement communicates with the firmware without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge, discharge, and BMS communication checks on the Split X2 platform. The protection circuit tripped correctly at low-voltage cutoff and the charge controller accepted the cell without fault codes on reconnection.
  • First-cycle calibration on the Split X2: After installing, run one full discharge until the laptop hibernates, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap on this platform.

BIOS reporting poor battery health after installing a new cell

The HP Split X2 stores battery wear data in EEPROM on the old cell. When you swap the cell, the BIOS reads zero charge cycles but may still flag health as poor or unknown because the fuel gauge IC has not yet mapped the new cell's actual capacity curve. This is a firmware calibration state, not a fault with the replacement. One complete discharge-to-hibernate followed by an uninterrupted full charge gives the BIOS enough data to update its health status. After two to three cycles the health reading stabilises.

Laptop shuts down at 20–30% charge shown after battery swap

This happens because the fuel gauge IC is still using the old cell's discharge curve to estimate remaining capacity. The new cell hits a voltage cliff under combined CPU and display load before the gauge reaches zero, so the system shuts down with charge still shown. The fix is the same learn cycle — discharge fully to hibernate cutoff, then charge to 100% without interruption. After two calibration cycles the gauge tracks the new cell accurately and shutdowns at false percentages stop.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does HP System Information show the wrong Wh rating after I put in the new battery?

The Wh figure shown in HP System Information pulls from the EEPROM on the battery, which stores the rated chemistry value at manufacture. The replacement cell is rated at 31.64Wh, but if the BIOS has cached the old cell's data, it may display a mismatched figure for the first few boot cycles. Run one full discharge to hibernate cutoff and recharge to 100% — the BIOS re-reads the EEPROM on the next full cycle and the correct 31.64Wh value populates.

The fuel gauge jumps around wildly and loses 15% in seconds — is the cell faulty?

Not necessarily. The fuel gauge IC in the Split X2 needs two to three full charge-discharge cycles to map the new cell's actual capacity curve. Until that calibration completes, the percentage readout can jump, drop suddenly, or read higher than actual. Let the battery discharge fully to hibernate, charge uninterrupted to 100%, and repeat once more. After the second full cycle the gauge settles and tracks charge level accurately.

My Split X2 stops charging at 80% and won't go higher — what's blocking it?

HP's BIOS on the Split X2 series includes a charge limit setting that caps charging at 80% to reduce cell stress over time. This is controlled by firmware, not the battery hardware. Check HP Power Manager or the BIOS battery settings — look for "Battery Care Function" or "Maximise My Battery Health" and disable it. Once that setting is off, the next charge cycle will run to 100%.
