Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

HP Slatebook x2 Keyboard Dock — 7.4V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (MY02XL)
This 7.4V, 2830mAh lithium-polymer cell replaces the original dock battery in the HP Slatebook x2 hybrid. It fits the detachable keyboard base unit — not the tablet itself. Compatible with Slatebook x2 10-H010NR and TPN-Q127 variants, among others.
- Dock-specific fitment: The Slatebook x2 splits power between the tablet and keyboard dock. These models share the MY02XL form factor — same 7.4V rail, same flat Li-Polymer footprint, and the same BMS handshake that reports charge state back to the host OS when the tablet is docked.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and discharge cycles on a Slatebook x2 dock. The BMS communicated charge state to the OS without error flags, and the protection circuit engaged correctly at low-voltage cutoff.
- Post-install calibration for the dock battery: After fitting this cell, let the dock discharge fully to hibernate cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the fuel gauge IC against the new cell and clears the inaccurate health warning that typically appears after a cell swap on HP hybrid systems.
Why the Slatebook x2 dock shows 0% or "unknown battery" after fitting a new cell
The EEPROM on the old cell stores cycle count and health data the OS reads directly. A new cell has a blank or mismatched EEPROM, so Windows reports 0% or flags the battery as unknown. This is a firmware calibration gap, not a fault with the replacement cell. Running one full discharge-to-cutoff cycle followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% lets the fuel gauge IC write a fresh baseline against the new cell. After two or three cycles, the reported percentage stabilises.
Dock charge stops at 80% and won't climb higher
HP's battery management firmware on the Slatebook x2 includes a charge threshold that caps at 80% when battery health is flagged as degraded or unrecognised. The BIOS reads the old EEPROM health data and applies the limit to protect what it thinks is a worn cell. Enter the BIOS setup utility, navigate to Power Management, and disable the Battery Care Function or charge limit if present. If the option is greyed out, run the calibration cycle first — once the fuel gauge IC registers a full cycle, the BIOS usually releases the cap and charges to 4.2V per cell.

Frequently Asked Questions
The HP Slatebook x2 dock battery shows "poor health" in Windows the moment I fitted the new cell — is something wrong with it?
Nothing is wrong with the cell. Windows is reading EEPROM data from the old battery that was written before you swapped it out, and the new cell's EEPROM doesn't match what the fuel gauge IC expects. Run one full discharge to hibernate cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. After that calibration cycle, the health warning clears on most Slatebook x2 units.
The dock battery percentage jumps wildly — it reads 60%, then drops to 15% without warning. What causes that?
The fuel gauge IC on the dock board hasn't built a charge curve for the new cell yet. It's interpolating state-of-charge from the old cell's data, which doesn't match the new cell's actual voltage profile. Run two to three full discharge-and-charge cycles without interrupting the charge phase. By the third cycle, the IC has enough data points to track the cell accurately and the gauge stabilises.
System info shows the dock battery Wh rating as lower than the spec — it displays around 18Wh instead of 20.94Wh. Is this a wrong cell?
This is an EEPROM reporting difference, not a capacity fault. The Wh figure shown in system info is pulled from the battery's EEPROM register, which may carry a rated value from a slightly different cell variant in the MY02XL family. The actual cell chemistry and measured capacity match the 20.94Wh spec. Verify with a full charge cycle and check that the dock holds charge across a normal workload — if it does, the cell is correct.
