Battery percentage drops faster than expected in the first hour after a full charge on the 408 G1 — what's causing it?
This is fuel gauge drift, not capacity loss. The gauge IC hasn't yet mapped the full discharge curve of the new 4800mAh cell, so early percentage steps appear larger than they should. Run two complete discharge-to-shutoff and full charge cycles back to back. After the second cycle, the gauge IC has enough data to report accurate percentage steps across the full range.
