Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Asus ZenPad 8.0 Z380C Series — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (C11P1505)

This is a 3.8V, 3900mAh Li-Polymer battery for the Asus ZenPad 8.0 tablet range. It fits the Z380C, Z380CX, Z380KL, and P022 variants. Capacity figure comes from the product specification — 14.82Wh total energy.

  • Z380 series compatibility: The Z380C, Z380CX, and Z380KL share the same battery bay dimensions and connector pinout. All three models use the same BMS handshake voltage threshold, so one cell works across the range without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran the C11P1505 replacement through charge-discharge cycles on the Z380C. The BMS accepted the cell on first connect, charge IC engaged correctly, and voltage held stable across the display and Wi-Fi load combined.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration after swap: After fitting this battery, run the tablet down to automatic shutoff, then charge it uninterrupted to 100% without interruption. This forces the fuel gauge IC to recalibrate against the new cell and clears the inaccurate percentage readings that commonly appear after a battery replacement.

ZenPad 8.0 shutting down at 15–25% remaining

This happens when the fuel gauge IC still holds calibration data from the old, degraded cell. The tablet hits a voltage cliff under combined display and Wi-Fi draw before the reported percentage reaches zero. The device interprets this voltage drop as an empty battery and shuts down. Run one full discharge cycle to automatic shutoff, then charge to 100% — the gauge resets and the early shutdowns stop.

Fast charging unavailable after battery replacement on Z380KL

The Z380KL uses USB-PD negotiation to enable higher charge rates. After a battery swap, the charge controller requires one complete accepted charge cycle before it re-enables the higher voltage contract with the charger. On the first charge post-install, use the original Asus adapter. Once that first full cycle completes, fast charging becomes available again as normal.

Frequently Asked Questions

My ZenPad 8.0 shows 40% battery then just switches off — why?

The fuel gauge IC on the Z380C is still calibrated to the voltage curve of the old, worn cell. When combined display and Wi-Fi load pulls current, the new cell's voltage drops sharply at the low end, and the tablet reads that as empty before the percentage reaches zero. Run the tablet down to automatic shutoff without interruption, then charge straight to 100%. That single full cycle resets the calibration and stops the premature shutdowns.

The battery percentage on my ZenPad 8.0 jumps around after I replaced the battery — is something wrong?

Nothing is wrong with the cell. The fuel gauge IC learned the charge curve of the original battery over hundreds of cycles, and the new cell's curve is different enough to cause erratic readings. One full discharge to automatic shutoff followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% resets the IC against the new cell. After that cycle, percentage reporting stabilises.

Fast charging stopped working on my ZenPad 8.0 Z380KL after fitting a new battery — what happened?

The Z380KL's charge controller negotiates a USB-PD contract with the adapter before enabling higher charge rates. After a battery swap, that contract is not re-established until one complete charge cycle has been accepted. Plug in the original Asus adapter and let the tablet charge fully to 100% without unplugging. Fast charging resumes from the next charge session onwards.
