Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Apple iPad Pro 10.5" — 3.77V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (A1798)
This is a 3.77V, 8130mAh (30.65Wh) Li-Polymer replacement battery for the Apple iPad Pro 10.5" (2017). It fits models A1709 and A1852, including MQDT2LL/A and 26 additional regional variants. Swap it in when the original A1798 cell can no longer hold a charge or causes unexpected shutdowns.
- iPad Pro 10.5" model variants: Apple released the 10.5" Pro across Wi-Fi and cellular SKUs sharing the same voltage rail, connector, and BMS handshake — all drawing from the same A1798 cell. One replacement battery covers the full 2017 lineup.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on a 10.5" Pro unit. The BMS communicated correctly with iPadOS at each state-of-charge threshold, and the charge IC accepted the full 8130mAh without fault flags.
- Fuel gauge recalibration after installation: After fitting this battery, run the iPad down to automatic shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without using the device. This gives the fuel gauge IC a clean reference point against the new cell and corrects the percentage drift that commonly appears after a swap.
iPad Pro 10.5" shutting down at 15–25% remaining
This happens when the display backlight and Wi-Fi radio draw simultaneously, causing a voltage sag that the fuel gauge reads as a cutoff threshold even though reported percentage is still above zero. The original cell develops this cliff as it ages — its internal resistance rises, and the voltage drop under combined load becomes steep enough to trigger a shutdown. A fresh cell with lower internal resistance eliminates the sag. After installation, one full discharge-to-shutoff cycle lets the BMS map the new cell's actual discharge curve.
iPad showing wrong battery percentage after battery replacement
The fuel gauge IC inside the iPad was calibrated against the old cell's charge curve. When a new cell goes in, the IC is still using stale reference data, so it reports inaccurate percentages — often jumping or plateauing at specific points. This is not a fault with the replacement cell. Run one complete cycle: discharge to automatic shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. After that cycle, the IC recalibrates and percentage reporting stabilises.

Frequently Asked Questions
Fast charging stopped working after I replaced the battery on my iPad Pro 10.5" — why?
USB-PD negotiation on the iPad Pro requires at least one completed charge cycle before the charge IC confirms the new cell's parameters and unlocks higher charge rates. Plug into the original Apple 12W or 18W USB-C adapter and let it run one full uninterrupted charge to 100% without using the device. After that cycle, fast charging resumes normally.
My iPad Pro 10.5" battery percentage is dropping faster than expected right after a full charge — is the new cell faulty?
It's almost always fuel gauge drift, not a cell fault. The gauge IC reads the new cell's discharge curve against calibration data from the old cell, so the early percentage drop looks steeper than it actually is. Run the iPad down to automatic shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% — one full cycle resets the IC's reference point and the drop rate normalises from the next charge onward.
The iPad Pro 10.5" feels warm near the charging port while charging with the new battery — is that normal?
Some warmth during the first few charge cycles is expected. The charge IC is characterising the new cell — measuring its internal resistance and adjusting current delivery accordingly. Surface temperature should stay well below 40°C and reduce after the first complete charge cycle. If the device becomes hot to the touch or shows a temperature warning on screen, disconnect immediately and check that the battery connector is fully seated.
