Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

HP ProBook 4410s / 4415s Series — 10.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (513128-251)
This is a 10.8V, 4400mAh (47.52Wh) Li-ion replacement battery for the HP ProBook 4410s, 4411s, 4415s, and 4416s notebooks. It cross-references OEM part numbers 513128-251, 513128-361, 535806-001, HSTNN-DB90, HSTNN-XB90, and NZ374AA. The battery slots into the standard bay and communicates with the ProBook's BIOS over the SMBus charge line.
- ProBook 4410s / 4411s / 4415s / 4416s fit: These four models share the same 10.8V three-cell rail, identical connector pinout, and the same SMBus BMS handshake protocol — one cell works across the range without firmware differences.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell on a ProBook 4415s under CPU stress plus display at full brightness. The BMS held voltage above 10.2V throughout the discharge cycle and tripped into protect at 9.6V as expected — no premature cutoff.
- First-cycle calibration on the 4410s: After fitting, run the laptop unplugged until it hibernates on low battery, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This forces the ProBook's BIOS battery learn cycle to reset against the new cell's actual capacity and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap.
BIOS reporting poor battery health immediately after fitting a new cell
The ProBook BIOS reads health data from the battery's EEPROM, not from live voltage measurements. When a new cell ships, its EEPROM holds factory baseline data that doesn't match the ProBook's stored charge history for the old battery. The BIOS flags this mismatch as degraded health — even though the cell is new. Running one full discharge-to-hibernate cycle followed by a full uninterrupted charge rewrites the learn data and clears the warning.
ProBook 4410s shutting down abruptly at 20–30% charge shown
This happens when the fuel gauge IC's calibration is still mapped to the old cell's voltage curve. The gauge reads 25% remaining, but the new cell's actual voltage under full CPU plus display load drops sharply — hitting the BMS low-voltage cutoff before the displayed percentage reaches zero. It is a calibration gap, not a faulty cell. Run two or three complete discharge-to-hibernate then charge-to-100% cycles to let the fuel gauge IC re-map against the new cell. After calibration, the BIOS fuel gauge tracks accurately down to the BMS cutoff at 9.6V.

Frequently Asked Questions
My ProBook 4410s says "Consider replacing your battery" in BIOS right after I installed the new cell — is something wrong with it?
Nothing is wrong with the cell. The ProBook BIOS pulls health status from the battery's EEPROM data, and a freshly shipped cell carries factory baseline values that don't match the charge history the BIOS expects. Run the laptop unplugged until it hibernates on low battery, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. That single learn cycle rewrites the BIOS health data and clears the warning.
The fuel gauge on my ProBook 4415s is jumping around — showing 60%, then suddenly 45% a few minutes later. Why?
The fuel gauge IC is still calibrated against the old cell's voltage curve. It has no reference data for the new cell yet, so percentage readings swing unpredictably until it collects real charge and discharge data. We saw the same behaviour on the bench — it settled after two full discharge-to-hibernate cycles followed by full charges. By the third cycle the gauge tracks steadily across the full range.
The system information screen shows a different Wh rating for this battery than what I expected — is the battery reporting incorrect data?
The Wh value shown in Windows or BIOS is read from the battery's EEPROM, which stores the rated chemistry value set at the factory. That figure can differ slightly from the calculated Wh based on measured voltage and actual cell chemistry. The 513128-251 is rated at 47.52Wh — if your system info shows a close but not identical figure, check the EEPROM value resets after one full calibration cycle by going to HP Support Assistant and re-running the battery check after the learn cycle completes.
