Fits HTC Tattoo smartphone, replaces OEM battery TOPA160, BA S360, 35H00125-07M.
3.7V nominal voltage, 2000mAh capacity delivers sustained power for calling, messaging, and app use on this device.
Micro connector seats into the Tattoo's battery slot with no mechanical locking tab — orientation is keyed.
We bench tested this cell on an HTC Tattoo unit; the BMS accepted full charge without fault codes or thermal spike.
On first full charge after installation, let the phone discharge completely before recharging — the fuel gauge IC needs to recalibrate against this cell's discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

HTC Tattoo / CLIC100 / A3288 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (TOPA160)

This 3.7V, 2000mAh Li-ion cell replaces the original TOPA160 battery in the HTC Tattoo, CLIC100, and A3288 handsets. It restores power to calling, messaging, and app functions when the original cell has degraded or failed to hold charge. Dimensions are 64.89 × 39.83 × 8.62mm — check these against your existing cell before fitting.

  • Tattoo / CLIC100 / A3288 compatibility: All three models share the same 3.7V single-cell architecture, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — one cell covers the full platform without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the Tattoo platform. The BMS accepted charge current correctly, voltage held steady under screen-on and modem load, and no cutoff events were triggered during the test sequence.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After fitting, disable any fast-charge mode and run one complete discharge-to-charge cycle at standard current. This lets the phone's fuel gauge IC map its coulomb counter to the new cell's discharge curve before applying higher charge rates.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the HTC Tattoo after a cell swap

The Tattoo's fuel gauge IC retains the discharge curve from the old cell after a swap. When actual cell voltage drops below roughly 3.5V under modem or display load, the phone shuts down even though the UI still shows charge remaining. This is a voltage cliff — the new cell's internal resistance differs from the worn original, and the fuel gauge hasn't caught up. One full discharge-to-charge cycle at standard current corrects the curve. After that cycle, the percentage readout tracks real remaining capacity accurately.

Phone won't power on after the replacement cell sat in storage

Li-ion cells self-discharge in storage at roughly 2–3% per month. If the cell reached the BMS lockout threshold — typically below 2.5V — the protection circuit opens and blocks all current flow, including the charge current needed to recover it. Connect the phone to a wall charger, not a USB port, and leave it for 15–20 minutes without pressing the power button. Wall adapters deliver enough trickle current to nudge the cell above the BMS re-enable threshold, which sits around 2.9V on this platform.

Frequently Asked Questions

My HTC Tattoo shows 25% battery and just cuts off without warning — is the new cell faulty?

The cell is most likely fine. The phone's fuel gauge IC was calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve, so it can't accurately predict when the new cell's voltage will drop under load. When the Tattoo's modem or screen draws current, voltage sags faster than the gauge expects, triggering an emergency shutdown. Run one full discharge — let it cut off on its own — then charge to 100% without interruption, and the fuel gauge IC will remap its coulomb counter to the new cell.

The battery percentage on my Tattoo jumps around erratically after fitting the replacement — sometimes it gains 10% just sitting idle.

This is the fuel gauge IC recalibrating after a cell swap. The coulomb counter in the Tattoo's charge IC is still using charge and discharge data from the old cell, so percentage estimates drift until the hardware learns the new cell's actual capacity. One complete discharge-to-charge cycle at standard current — no fast charging — resets the reference points. After that cycle, readings stabilise and percentage changes track more smoothly under real use.

The HTC Tattoo feels noticeably warm near the battery slot during the first few charges after fitting a new cell — is something wrong?

Mild warmth on the first few charge cycles is normal with a new high-impedance cell. A fresh Li-ion cell has slightly higher internal resistance than a broken-in one, which means the charge IC dissipates a little more energy as heat until the cell is conditioned. Keep the phone out of a case and away from surfaces during the first two or three charges so heat can dissipate freely. If the back becomes too hot to hold, stop charging and check that the replacement cell's BMS is seated correctly — the cell contact pins should be fully engaged and flat.
