Fits LG GD900, GD900 Crystal, BL40 Chocolate smartphones; replaces LGIP-520N and SBPL0099201.
3.7V at 1000mAh delivers sufficient charge for voice calls, messaging, and basic data on this device.
Connector slides straight into the battery slot with a single locking tab; verify seating before closing cover.
We ran a full discharge cycle on a GD900 unit; the BMS accepted charge without fault codes and held voltage under modem load.
On first use after installation, run one complete discharge-charge cycle before heavy use so the fuel gauge IC recalibrates against this cell's discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

LG GD900 Crystal / BL40 Chocolate — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (LGIP-520N)

This is a 3.7V, 1000mAh Li-ion cell built to the LGIP-520N spec. It fits the LG GD900, GD900 Crystal, and BL40 Chocolate. Voltage, connector pitch, and BMS handshake all match the original LG specification.

  • GD900, GD900 Crystal, BL40 Chocolate compatibility: All three models share the same 3.7V single-cell architecture, connector footprint, and charge IC protocol. One cell revision covers the full range without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the GD900 platform. The BMS accepted charge at the correct 4.2V termination voltage and the protection circuit tripped cleanly at the low-voltage cutoff threshold.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first cycle: After fitting this cell, run one complete discharge to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% before normal use. The GD900's fuel gauge IC was calibrated to the original cell's discharge curve — one full cycle resets that reference against the new cell so percentage readings stay accurate.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the GD900 after a cell swap

The GD900's processor and modem pull current spikes that a degraded or uncalibrated cell cannot sustain. When cell voltage drops below roughly 3.5V under that load, the BMS cuts output to protect the cell — even if the fuel gauge still shows 20–30% remaining. This is a voltage sag issue, not a capacity issue. A new cell with low internal resistance handles the spike without the voltage cliff that triggers the cutoff.

Phone not powering on after the replacement cell sat in storage

Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage. If this cell drops below approximately 2.5V per cell, the BMS enters lockout mode and refuses to supply current — the phone appears completely dead. Connect the phone to a wall charger rather than a USB port, since wall chargers supply enough seed current to wake the BMS from lockout. Leave it connected for at least 15 minutes before attempting to power on. Once the cell recovers above 3.0V, the BMS releases and the phone boots normally.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does my LG GD900 show 25% battery and then just die with no warning?

This is a voltage cliff — the new cell's voltage drops sharply under the current spike from the modem or display, and the BMS cuts output before the fuel gauge catches up. The fuel gauge IC on the GD900 tracks coulombs, not raw voltage, so it still reads 25% when the cell can no longer hold voltage under load. Run one full discharge-to-shutdown cycle followed by a full uninterrupted charge. This recalibrates the coulomb counter against the new cell's actual discharge curve and eliminates the mismatch.

The battery percentage on my GD900 is jumping around erratically after I fitted the new cell — is it faulty?

The fuel gauge IC is still referencing the discharge curve of the old, degraded cell. A new cell has a different internal resistance and a flatter discharge profile, so the IC's estimates are off until it learns the new curve. Run one complete discharge to automatic shutdown, then charge to 100% without interruption. After that single calibration cycle, the percentage readings stabilise against the new cell's actual behaviour.

My GD900 won't turn on at all after the replacement battery arrived — what's happening?

The cell likely dropped below 2.5V during shipping or storage, which pushed the BMS into low-voltage lockout. In lockout the cell supplies no current, so the phone behaves as if there is no battery installed. Plug directly into a wall charger — not a laptop USB port — and leave it for 15 to 20 minutes without pressing the power button. Once the cell recovers above 3.0V the BMS releases, and the phone will power on and begin charging normally.
