Fits Huawei Watch GT2 42mm; replaces OEM part HB472023ECW.
This 3.82V 210mAh Li-Polymer cell powers the entire watch platform—display, heart rate sensor, GPS, and Bluetooth radio all draw from this single pack.
Connector is a two-pin pogo contact; alignment matters when seating onto the magnetic charger dock inside the case.
We bench-tested the cell on Huawei's BMS; fuel gauge accepted the new pack after a full charge cycle from near-zero state.
After fitting the new cell, charge to 100% before wearing—the fuel gauge IC cannot calibrate battery capacity without one complete charge from empty after a swap.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Huawei Watch GT2 42mm — 3.82V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (HB472023ECW)

This is a 3.82V, 210mAh lithium-polymer cell for the Huawei Watch GT2 42mm smartwatch. It replaces part number HB472023ECW and fits the 42mm case only — not the 46mm variant. Swap this cell when the original no longer holds a charge or the watch shuts down unexpectedly under load.

  • GT2 42mm specific fitment: The 42mm and 46mm GT2 share no battery components. The HB472023ECW is sized at 21.35 × 19.52 × 4.45mm to fit the 42mm chassis. Fitting a mismatched cell risks connector stress and BMS faults.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the GT2 42mm platform. The onboard BMS accepted the cell without fault codes, and the fuel gauge IC responded correctly to a full charge cycle post-swap.
  • Post-swap charge requirement: After fitting this cell, place the watch on its magnetic charger immediately and charge it to 100% before use. The fuel gauge IC loses its reference point when the original cell is disconnected. Without a full charge cycle from near-zero, the battery percentage readout will be inaccurate and the watch may shut off well above the displayed charge level.

Why the GT2 42mm drains a new cell faster in the first week

A new lithium-polymer cell has a different internal impedance profile than the aged cell it replaces. The GT2's sensor stack — optical heart rate, accelerometer, and BLE radio — draws current against this new impedance and the BMS adjusts its charging curve over the first several cycles. Drain rate typically normalises after five to seven full charge cycles. If drain remains high after that, check whether always-on display or continuous heart rate monitoring is active in the Huawei Health app settings.

Watch not pairing to the Huawei Health app after battery replacement

Removing power clears the active Bluetooth LE session between the watch and the paired phone. The Huawei Health app does not automatically re-establish this link after a hard power loss. Open the Huawei Health app, go to Devices, remove the GT2 42mm from the device list, then re-pair from scratch using the watch's Bluetooth settings menu. Do not attempt to reconnect without first deleting the old pairing entry — the app will loop on a connection attempt and fail.

Frequently Asked Questions

My GT2 42mm shows 0% and won't turn on right after I swapped the battery — did I get a dead cell?

The cell is almost certainly fine. The fuel gauge IC on the GT2 42mm loses its charge reference the moment the original battery is disconnected, so it has no baseline to read from after the swap. Place the watch on its magnetic charger immediately and leave it until the display shows 100%. The percentage readout and power behaviour will normalise once the IC completes a full calibration cycle from near-zero.

The magnetic charger doesn't seem to be making contact after I put the watch back together — the charging icon never appears.

This is a physical alignment issue, not a battery fault. The magnetic charging contacts on the GT2 42mm sit flush against a rear plate that can shift slightly during reassembly. Remove the watch from the charger, rotate it slightly on the charging puck, and reseat it until the charging icon appears on screen. If the icon still doesn't show, open the case and confirm the battery connector is fully seated — a half-seated connector can prevent the charging circuit from engaging.

Battery draining completely in about a day on my GT2 42mm — always-on display is already off.

With always-on display disabled, the main draw culprits are continuous heart rate monitoring and frequent GPS polling if activity tracking is running in the background. Open the Huawei Health app, go to the GT2 42mm device settings, and switch heart rate monitoring from continuous to every 10 minutes. If the watch is also set to auto-detect workouts, disable that setting — it keeps the GPS and accelerometer active even when the watch is idle.
