Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Huawei P40 — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (HB525777ECW)
This is a 3800mAh Li-Polymer cell at 3.85V, replacing OEM part HB525777ECW and HB525777EEW in the Huawei P40 (ANA-AN00, ANA-TN00). It fits the stock battery bay with no modification. Capacity matches the factory spec at 14.63Wh.
- P40 ANA-AN00 and ANA-TN00 coverage: Both ANA variants run the same 3.85V power rail and use identical connector pinouts and BMS handshake logic, so a single cell serves both regional builds without any wiring or firmware difference.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and discharge cycles on the P40 platform. The BMS accepted the cell, fast charge signalling initialised correctly after one full cycle, and the fuel gauge IC tracked state of charge without erratic jumps.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After fitting this cell, disable fast charging for the first complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC build an accurate discharge curve against the new cell before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated state.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell
This is a voltage cliff issue. Under modem or display load, the new cell briefly drops below the BMS cutoff threshold even though the fuel gauge still reads 20–30%. The gauge was calibrated to the old, degraded cell curve and does not yet know the new cell's actual discharge profile. One full discharge to shutdown followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% resets the coulomb counter. After that cycle, the reported percentage should track actual cell voltage accurately again.
Huawei SuperCharge not activating after cell replacement
On the first cycle after a cell swap, the charge IC on the P40 may not handshake with the new cell's BMS and will fall back to standard 5V charging. This is normal — the controller is reading cell impedance and temperature before allowing high-current negotiation. Charge the phone to 100% on a standard charger first, then power cycle the device. On the next charge session, SuperCharge should negotiate correctly and the charging indicator will show the higher wattage rate.

Frequently Asked Questions
My P40 won't turn on at all after the new battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is it dead?
The BMS locks the cell out when voltage drops below roughly 2.5V from self-discharge during storage. The cell is not dead — it needs a trickle charge to bring it back above the BMS recovery threshold. Plug into a genuine Huawei charger and leave it connected for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button. Once voltage climbs above the recovery floor, the BMS unlocks and the phone will boot normally.
The battery percentage jumps around erratically — it reads 45%, then 60%, then 30% within a few minutes.
The fuel gauge IC is using the discharge curve from the old cell to estimate state of charge on the new one — the two curves do not match, so the readings are unreliable. Run one complete discharge to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without using the phone. This forces the coulomb counter to rebuild its reference map against the actual new cell, and the percentage should stabilise from that point forward.
The phone feels noticeably warm near the battery area while charging — is something wrong?
A new high-impedance cell generates more heat during initial charge cycles than a broken-in cell does. The charge IC on the P40 runs slightly higher current while it characterises the new cell's internal resistance, which produces warmth at the battery location. This typically reduces after two or three full charge cycles as the cell's impedance settles. If the phone stays warm beyond the third full cycle or triggers a charging-paused notification, check that the charger output matches Huawei's spec — 5V/2A minimum, 9V/2A for SuperCharge.
