Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

TP-Link Neffos C5 Plus — 3.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (NBL-40A2150)
This 3.8V, 2050mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original cell in the TP-Link Neffos C5 Plus smartphone, including variants TP7031A and TP7031C. It matches OEM part numbers NBL-40A2150 and NBL-40B2150. Install it when your original cell no longer holds a charge or shuts down unexpectedly under load.
- TP7031A and TP7031C variant fit: Both handset variants share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol — this cell fits either without modification or adapter.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a C5 Plus unit. The BMS accepted charge current correctly, voltage held steady through screen-on load, and the protection circuit tripped at the expected cutoff threshold.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-to-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging begins on an uncalibrated cell.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Neffos C5 Plus after a cell swap
This is a voltage cliff problem, not a defective cell. A new Li-ion cell has a slightly different discharge curve than the aged original. The fuel gauge IC — still calibrated to the old cell — misreads state of charge and allows the phone to keep running until actual cell voltage drops below the modem and display's minimum operating threshold. The phone cuts out even though the reported percentage looks safe. One full uninterrupted discharge-charge cycle recalibrates the coulomb counter and eliminates the false floor.
OS reporting incorrect battery percentage after replacement
The C5 Plus uses a fuel gauge IC that builds its charge model against the cell it was last calibrated on. Swap the cell and that model is immediately wrong — percentages can jump, stall, or read high while actual capacity is lower. This is not a firmware fault or a defective replacement. Discharge the phone until it powers off automatically, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without removing the cable. After one full cycle, the IC re-anchors its curve to the new cell and percentage readings stabilise.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Neffos C5 Plus won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for months — is the cell dead?
The BMS locks out the cell when voltage drops below roughly 2.5V during storage — a protection against cell reversal damage. The phone won't respond to the power button because the BMS is blocking current flow entirely. Plug into a wall charger (not a PC USB port) and leave it for 15–20 minutes without pressing anything — the charge IC trickle-charges the cell back above the BMS re-enable threshold. Once voltage recovers, the phone will boot normally.
Fast charging stopped working the first time I charged the new battery — is something wrong with the charger?
Nothing is wrong with the charger. On the first cycle with a new cell, the BMS may not immediately complete the handshake required for the fast-charge protocol to engage — it defaults to standard charge current as a precaution. This typically resolves after the first full charge cycle. Charge the phone to 100% at standard speed, let it discharge to around 10–15%, then recharge — fast charging should engage normally from the second cycle onward.
The phone feels warm near the battery during charging after the swap — should I be concerned?
Mild warmth during the first few charge cycles is normal with a new high-impedance cell. A fresh Li-ion cell has slightly higher internal resistance than a broken-in one, so the charge IC dissipates more energy as heat during the initial cycles. If the phone becomes hot enough to be uncomfortable to hold, stop charging and check that the charger output matches the C5 Plus specification of 5V. Warmth that diminishes after 2–3 cycles is expected; persistent heat after that points to a charger voltage mismatch.
