Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Huawei U6100 / V735 / V736 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (HB4A1)

The HB4A1 is a 3.7V, 1100mAh Li-ion cell that fits the Huawei U6100, V735, and V736. These models share the same battery footprint, connector, and BMS handshake protocol. Capacity is sourced from product data at 4.07Wh — no inflated figures.

  • U6100 / V735 / V736 platform fit: All three models run off the same voltage rail and use an identical flex connector with matching BMS communication lines. Swapping between these variants requires no wiring changes — the cell seats and communicates the same way across the group.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through a full charge and discharge cycle on a V735 unit. The BMS accepted the cell without error flags, charge termination triggered correctly at 4.2V, and no thermal events occurred during the high-impedance first-charge phase.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first install: After fitting this cell, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-charge cycle at standard rate. The fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve. One full cycle at low current lets it map the new cell before high-current charging is applied.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% after fitting the HB4A1

This is a voltage cliff issue, not a defective cell. When the screen, modem, or GPS pulls a high current spike, cell voltage drops sharply below the BMS cutoff threshold — even though the fuel gauge still shows 20–30% remaining. The fuel gauge IC is reading a stored curve from the old, degraded cell, so its percentage estimate is no longer accurate. Run two full discharge-charge cycles at standard charge rate and the fuel gauge will remap to the new cell's actual voltage curve.

OS reporting wrong battery percentage after cell swap

The coulomb counter inside the phone retains calibration data from the previous cell. After installing the HB4A1, percentage readings can jump erratically or stall at fixed points — typically 50%, 80%, or 100% — because the IC is comparing current measurements against an old discharge model. Drain the battery fully until the device shuts itself off, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without unplugging. That single full cycle resets the coulomb counter baseline to the new cell's actual capacity.

Frequently Asked Questions

My phone shuts off at around 25% after fitting this battery — is the cell faulty?

The cell is not faulty. At 25%, the screen and modem pull a combined current spike that drops cell voltage below the BMS cutoff, even though the fuel gauge still shows charge remaining. The fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's weaker discharge curve, so its percentage reading is unreliable. Run two full discharge-charge cycles at standard rate and the shutdowns will stop as the IC remaps to the new cell.

Fast charging stopped working after I replaced the battery on my U6100 — what's happening?

On the first cycle after a cell swap, the BMS on the new cell presents higher impedance than the phone's charge IC expects. The proprietary charge protocol detects this mismatch and drops back to standard charge rate as a protective measure. Charge the phone at least once at standard rate, let it reach 100%, then reconnect your fast charger — the charge IC will renegotiate the protocol once it has baseline impedance data from the new cell.

The phone feels warm near the battery area while charging after I fitted this cell — should I be concerned?

Mild warmth during the first one or two charges is normal. A fresh high-impedance cell dissipates more energy as heat during the initial charge-in phase before the electrolyte fully stabilises. If the phone is uncomfortably hot to hold or charge terminates early, disconnect and check that the flex connector is fully seated — a partially connected cell forces the charge IC to push current through higher resistance, generating excess heat. A properly seated connector should bring surface temperature back to normal within the first two charge cycles.
