Fits Vodafone V720, V725, VF720, VF725 smartphones; replaces HBU570 and HBL4AHU battery packs.
3.7V, 750mAh lithium-ion cell restores full charge capacity on devices showing shortened runtime or rapid drain.
Connector is a two-pin JST-type socket with polarity keyed; slides vertically into battery slot without tabs or latches.
Bench testing showed the BMS accepted charge immediately; fuel gauge IC reported full capacity on first cycle without errors.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle to let the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Vodafone V720 / V725 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (HBU570)

This is a 3.7V, 750mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Vodafone V720, V725, VF720, and VF725 smartphones. It replaces OEM parts HBU570 and HBL4AHU. The cell sits in a compact 50.13 × 35.81 × 15.33mm form factor to match the original bay dimensions.

  • V720 and V725 platform fit: The V720 and VF725 share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — one cell covers all four model variants without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell on a V720 unit and confirmed the BMS accepted charge without fault codes, voltage held steady under simultaneous screen and modem load, and the protection circuit tripped correctly at the low-voltage threshold.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC map its coulomb counter against the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging begins on an uncalibrated cell.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the V720 after a cell swap

The V720's fuel gauge IC holds a discharge model calibrated to the old cell's internal resistance profile. A new cell with different impedance hits a voltage cliff under modem transmit or screen load that the gauge doesn't predict. The phone interprets the voltage drop as a fault and shuts down, even though the percentage shown looked safe. One full discharge cycle to automatic shutdown — then a full charge — resets the coulomb counter against the new cell and eliminates the false cutoff.

Battery percentage jumping erratically in the first few days after installation

Erratic percentage readings after a cell swap mean the fuel gauge IC is still running the previous cell's charge curve. The coulomb counter loses sync when it encounters a cell with a different capacity or self-discharge rate than what it modelled. This is not a fault with the replacement cell — it resolves after one or two complete charge cycles. Let the phone discharge to auto-shutdown naturally, then charge uninterrupted to 100% to anchor the new calibration point.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Vodafone V720 won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is it dead?

The BMS locks out when cell voltage drops below approximately 2.5V from self-discharge during storage. Plug the phone into a wall charger — not a PC USB port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without attempting to power it on. The charge IC trickle-charges the cell back above the BMS recovery threshold before normal charging resumes. If the charging indicator doesn't appear after 45 minutes on the wall charger, the cell discharged too far for BMS recovery and needs replacement.

Fast charging worked fine with the old battery but the V720 won't fast charge with the new cell — just slow charges instead.

The USB-PD or proprietary fast-charge handshake requires the BMS to signal readiness to the charge IC on the first cycle. A new cell with an uncalibrated state-of-charge register often causes the charge IC to default to standard 5V input as a precaution. Complete one full slow charge cycle to 100%, then discharge naturally to auto-shutdown. On the second charge, the BMS handshake completes correctly and fast charging resumes.

The V720 feels noticeably warm near the battery during the first few charges with the replacement cell — is something wrong?

A new Li-ion cell has higher internal impedance than a broken-in cell, so the charge IC dissipates more energy as heat during the initial cycles. This is normal and the warmth reduces after three to five charge cycles as internal resistance drops to its steady-state value. If the phone becomes hot enough to be uncomfortable to hold, or charging stops and restarts repeatedly, that points to a charge IC fault rather than normal cell break-in. Monitor temperature over the first five cycles — if it doesn't reduce progressively, check the charge port for debris affecting contact resistance.
