Fits Plusfon U120e, 401, and 401i phones; replaces the original 3.7V lithium-ion cell.
3.7V, 700mAh capacity delivers the same energy density as the OEM pack for this compact device.
Connector type and slot orientation match the U120e battery compartment; no modification needed.
We bench-tested the BMS on a U120e platform — fuel gauge IC accepted the new cell without fault codes.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle to let the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Plusfon U120e / 401 / 401i — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This is a 3.7V, 700mAh Li-ion cell for the Plusfon U120e, 401, and 401i mobile phones. It fits directly into the original battery bay and restores power when the factory cell has degraded or failed completely. Capacity figure is 700mAh (2.59Wh) as specified in the product data.

  • U120e, 401, and 401i compatibility: These three models share the same battery bay dimensions (53.78 × 34.05 × 4.80mm), voltage rail, and connector pinout — the same cell services all three without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge under load. The BMS held cutoff correctly at both the low-voltage floor and the 4.2V charge ceiling with no thermal event.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC build an accurate discharge curve for the new cell before any high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated state.

Why the U120e reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap

The phone's fuel gauge IC stores a discharge curve calibrated to the original cell. When a new cell goes in, the IC keeps using that old curve, so percentage readings drift — often reading 100% when the cell is partially charged or dropping sharply without warning. The fix is one full uninterrupted discharge to auto-off, followed by a full charge to 100% without interruption. After that single cycle, the coulomb counter recalibrates and percentage tracking stabilises.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% remaining on the replacement cell

This is a voltage cliff — not a capacity fault. Under peak modem or screen load, the cell voltage sags below the BMS cutoff threshold before the displayed percentage reaches zero. It happens most often when the fuel gauge IC is still running on the old cell's curve. Run the recalibration cycle first. If shutdowns continue after one full cycle, check that cell voltage at power-off is at or above 3.4V — if it's dropping below that under load, the cell itself has an internal resistance issue.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Plusfon U120e won't turn on at all after sitting in a drawer for months — is the new battery dead on arrival?

It's almost certainly a BMS lockout, not a dead cell. When a Li-ion cell drops below roughly 2.5V from extended storage, the BMS trips a deep-discharge protection mode and refuses to pass current. Connect the phone to a charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes without attempting to power on — the charge IC will trickle current into the cell until it clears the BMS threshold. Once voltage recovers above 3.0V, the BMS releases and the phone boots normally.

Fast charging stopped working after I fitted the replacement battery — the phone only charges slowly now.

On the first charge cycle with a new cell, the phone's charge controller defaults to a conservative constant-current rate while it measures the new cell's impedance. Some proprietary fast-charge handshakes won't complete until the BMS has logged at least one full cycle. Complete one full charge to 100% at the slow rate, then disconnect and discharge normally to auto-off. Reconnect to the fast charger — the handshake should complete correctly on the second cycle.

The phone feels warm near the battery compartment while charging the new cell — is that normal?

A new high-impedance cell generates more heat during the initial charge cycles than a well-cycled one. Some warmth is expected while the charge IC pushes current into a fresh cell. It becomes a concern if the back of the phone is hot to the touch or the phone interrupts charging automatically. If warmth is mild and charging completes to 100% without cutoff, it will reduce after the first two or three cycles as cell impedance drops.
