Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

I-Tech T-One 2016 / MAG1000 2018 Series — 4.8V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (220AAH4BMXZ)
This is a 4.8V, 2000mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the I-Tech T-One 2016 and related electrotherapy units. It replaces OEM part 220AAH4BMXZ and fits the MAG1000 2018, T-One COACH, T-ONE MEDI SPORT, and additional models in the same platform family. Voltage and capacity match the original cell pack exactly.
- T-One and MAG1000 platform fit: These models share the same 4.8V four-cell Ni-MH architecture, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol. Swapping between units in this family does not require a firmware change or reconfiguration — the battery pack is mechanically and electrically interchangeable across the listed models.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on the T-One platform and monitored the BMS handshake at each stage. The charge IC accepted the cell without flagging a chemistry mismatch, and the pack held voltage within spec across the full discharge curve.
- Post-install self-test cycle: After fitting this battery, let the device complete its full power-on self-test without interruption. The T-One's BMS runs a verification sequence at startup — cutting power during this window writes a fault flag that persists until the next clean reboot, making the unit appear faulty when the battery is fine.
Why the T-One 2016 shuts off unexpectedly during a therapy session
Ni-MH cells have higher internal resistance in the first several cycles after manufacture. The T-One's load profile during active stimulation draws enough current to trigger the BMS undervoltage cutoff on a new cell before the cell is properly conditioned. This is not a fault — it is the BMS protecting the pack. Running three to five complete charge-discharge cycles normalises internal resistance and eliminates mid-session cutoffs.
Device not completing boot sequence after battery sat in storage
Ni-MH cells self-discharge at roughly 1–3% per day at room temperature. A pack that has been warehoused for several months may drop below the T-One's BMS recovery threshold — typically around 3.6V for a 4.8V pack — and the device will not boot or will halt partway through the startup sequence. Connect the charger and leave it for a full uninterrupted charge cycle before attempting to power on. Once the pack recovers above the threshold voltage, the BMS re-initialises and the boot sequence completes normally.

Frequently Asked Questions
The T-One is showing a low battery alarm straight after a full charge — is the new battery faulty?
It is not faulty. The T-One's BMS compares cell behaviour against a stored OEM baseline, and a new Ni-MH cell does not match that baseline until it has completed at least one full charge-discharge cycle. Run a complete cycle — charge to full, use the device through a normal session, recharge — and the alarm clears on subsequent startups. If the alarm persists after three full cycles, check that the pack is seated fully and the connector contacts are clean.
The charge indicator stopped climbing at around 80% and hasn't moved for over an hour — why won't it reach 100%?
The T-One's charge IC applies a conservative current limit on cells it has not yet profiled, which causes the indicator to plateau before the cell is genuinely full. This is the charge controller being cautious, not a cell fault. Leave the device on charge for the full cycle without disconnecting — the IC will trickle-charge the remaining capacity once it passes its internal threshold check. After the first full charge, subsequent cycles will reach 100% at the normal rate.
The device passed self-test fine but keeps cutting off about halfway through a treatment session — what's happening?
New Ni-MH cells have elevated internal resistance that drops only after several conditioning cycles. Mid-session cutoffs happen because the T-One draws enough current during active stimulation to cause a momentary voltage sag, which the BMS reads as undervoltage and shuts the device down. This is not a defective pack. Complete five full charge-discharge cycles and internal resistance will fall to its rated level — at that point the voltage sag under load stays above the BMS cutoff threshold and sessions complete without interruption.
