Fits Siemens Sonoline Antares Ultrasound, ACUSON S2000, and Sonoline Antares S-2000 models; replaces OEM part numbers 4834789, 110382, and 6289.
Outputs 4.8V at 3600mAh (17.28Wh) — Ni-MH chemistry delivers steady power for portable ultrasound diagnostic procedures without voltage sag during imaging scans.
Connector slides into the battery compartment with locking tab engaged; orientation is keyed to prevent reverse insertion on this medical system.
We bench-tested this cell in a Sonoline Antares unit with full charge-discharge cycles; the BMS accepted the new pack after the initial power-on self-test completed.
Allow the device to finish its power-on self-test cycle without interruption after installation — medical equipment BMS verification runs at startup, and stopping this cycle triggers a false battery fault that persists until full reboot.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Siemens Sonoline Antares / ACUSON S2000 — 4.8V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (4834789)

This 4.8V 3600mAh Ni-MH battery replaces the internal backup cell in the Siemens Sonoline Antares Ultrasound, Sonoline Antares S-2000, and ACUSON S2000 portable diagnostic systems. It maintains system state, supports the real-time clock, and powers the BMS handshake that allows the unit to complete its power-on self-test. Dimensions are 136.20 x 34.80 x 17.00mm — match these before installing.

  • Sonoline Antares and ACUSON S2000 platform fit: These models share the same 4.8V battery rail, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol. OEM part numbers 4834789, 110382, and 6289 all reference the same cell specification across production runs of this platform.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on the Sonoline Antares platform. The BMS accepted the new cell without fault codes, and the charge IC stepped through each stage correctly without triggering an early cutoff.
  • Power-on self-test after installation: After fitting the new battery, let the unit run its full startup sequence without interruption. The Sonoline Antares BMS runs a verification check at boot — cutting power mid-sequence flags a battery fault that persists until the next complete reboot cycle.

Why the Sonoline Antares triggers a low-battery alarm after a confirmed full charge

The Sonoline Antares BMS stores a capacity model calibrated to the original OEM cell's charge curve. A new Ni-MH cell has a slightly different voltage profile during the first few cycles, and the BMS reads this as a capacity shortfall. The alarm clears after one complete charge-discharge cycle, which lets the BMS update its internal model to match the new cell. Do not use the unit clinically until that first full cycle is complete and the alarm stays clear.

Unit will not power on after replacement cell sat in storage

Ni-MH cells self-discharge during storage, and if voltage drops below approximately 3.6V the Sonoline Antares BMS locks out power-on as a protection measure. Placing the unit on charge for a full uninterrupted cycle is usually enough to bring the cell above the recovery threshold. If the charge indicator does not advance within 30 minutes, disconnect and reconnect the charger to force the charge IC to re-poll the cell voltage. The unit should power on normally once the cell reads above 4.2V at rest.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Sonoline Antares shows a low battery warning as soon as I power it on, even though I just charged the new battery overnight — is something wrong?

Nothing is wrong with the cell. The Sonoline Antares BMS holds a capacity model built from the original OEM cell's charge curve, and a fresh Ni-MH cell reads slightly outside that model on the first cycle. Run one complete charge-discharge cycle without interrupting the boot sequence, and the BMS will recalibrate to the new cell. The alarm should not return after that cycle completes.

The unit powers on but shuts off unexpectedly during a scan — this didn't happen with the old battery.

The Sonoline Antares applies a demanding load profile during active imaging, and a new Ni-MH cell has not yet reached full capacity in the first several cycles. Voltage sag under that load can trip the BMS undervoltage cutoff before the cell is actually depleted. Run the battery through at least five full charge-discharge cycles before clinical use — load tolerance increases noticeably across those early cycles.

The charge indicator on the Sonoline Antares has been stuck below 100% for two charges in a row — is the new cell defective?

The charge IC applies a conservative current limit when it first sees a new cell, which means early charge cycles may terminate at 95–98% of rated capacity. This is normal behaviour. Capacity reading typically reaches the full 3600mAh mark by the third full charge cycle as the IC adjusts its cutoff threshold to match the cell's actual charge acceptance.
