Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

ieGeek Baby 1T — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery

This 3.7V, 3000mAh lithium-polymer battery fits the ieGeek Baby 1T baby monitor parent unit. It restores power to the handheld receiver that handles wireless video and audio from the nursery camera. When the original cell degrades, the parent unit struggles to hold charge through overnight monitoring sessions.

  • Baby 1T parent unit fit: The Baby 1T and Baby1T share the same parent unit housing, connector orientation, and BMS handshake protocol. This cell matches the 64.00 × 49.80 × 6.50mm physical envelope of the original — no modification to the housing needed.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the Baby 1T's BMS with screen-on and night-vision active. The BMS accepted the cell without fault flags and balanced charge terminated cleanly at 4.2V.
  • Re-pair the parent unit after installation: The Baby 1T drops its wireless link to the camera when the parent unit loses power completely. After fitting this battery, initiate the pairing sequence from the parent unit menu before expecting a live feed.

Parent unit not connecting to camera after battery swap

The Baby 1T stores its camera pairing data in volatile memory backed by the main battery. A full power interruption — including a battery swap — clears that link. The parent unit will boot normally but show a "searching" or blank screen because it has no stored channel to connect to. Hold the pair button on the camera unit first, then trigger pairing from the parent unit menu to re-establish the 2.4GHz link.

Night vision dropping out shortly after battery replacement

The Baby 1T's IR LEDs on the camera unit draw a sustained current load that stresses a partially charged cell. If the parent unit display flickers or the night-vision feed cuts to static shortly after a battery swap, the cell has not reached a full charge yet. The BMS will throttle output voltage under IR load when state-of-charge is below roughly 50%. Charge the new battery to 4.2V before running an overnight session with night vision active.

Frequently Asked Questions

My ieGeek Baby 1T parent unit is showing full bars on the new battery but the range is half what it used to be — what's wrong?

The Baby 1T's 2.4GHz radio transmitter is voltage-sensitive — range drops noticeably when the cell is only partially charged, even if the indicator reads full. Battery indicators on these units are calibrated to the original cell's discharge curve, so a new cell at 50% charge can still display multiple bars. Charge the replacement fully to 4.2V and retest range before assuming a fault. A full charge typically restores the radio to its rated operating range.

The Baby 1T parent unit is dead by 5am every night even with the new battery — is the battery faulty?

Running the Baby 1T with the screen permanently on through the night is a sustained high-draw condition that will deplete a 3000mAh cell faster than many users expect. The screen backlight is the single largest power consumer on the parent unit. Enable the screen timeout or VOX (voice activation) mode in the parent unit settings so the display sleeps between alerts. That alone significantly extends how far the charge carries through an overnight session.

I charged the new battery overnight but the Baby 1T parent unit won't turn on at all — how do I get it to boot?

If the cell voltage dropped below the BMS's minimum threshold before the swap, the protection circuit may have latched into a locked-off state. Connect the parent unit to its original charger and leave it for 15–20 minutes without pressing the power button — the charger delivers a trickle current that nudges the BMS out of lockout before normal charge resumes. Once the charging LED activates, the BMS has re-initialised and the unit should power on normally. If the LED never activates, check that the ribbon connector to the battery is fully seated.
