Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Inogen One G5 / Rove 6 — 14.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (1400-3010-16)
This 14.4V, 6400mAh lithium-ion battery replaces the OEM pack in the Inogen One G5 and Rove 6 portable oxygen concentrators. It slots into the same bay, matches the original connector, and powers the compressor and oxygen generation circuit at the same voltage rail. Capacity figure is 6400mAh (92.16Wh) — taken from product data, not estimated.
- One G5 and Rove 6 compatibility: Both devices run the same 14.4V battery platform and use identical BMS handshake logic, which is why one cell part number covers both. The concentrator's controller reads cell authentication data on startup — the replacement carries the correct response signature.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled the cell through the G5's full charge-discharge profile and confirmed the BMS accepted the pack without a false-fault flag. The protection circuit responded correctly to the compressor's load draw across all five flow settings.
- Power-on self-test after swap: After fitting this battery, let the G5 complete its full startup self-test without cutting power. The device runs a BMS verification pass at boot. Interrupting it before the sequence finishes plants a false battery fault that persists until the next clean reboot.
Low battery alarm on the G5 immediately after a confirmed full charge
The G5's charge controller calibrates its low-battery threshold against the OEM cell's chemistry signature. A new replacement cell hasn't yet completed a full charge-discharge learning cycle, so the BMS reports a lower state-of-charge than the cell actually holds. This triggers the alarm even when the pack is full. Run one complete charge-discharge cycle — down to automatic cutoff, then back to 100% — before relying on the battery indicator reading. After that cycle, the charge controller maps the new cell correctly and the alarm clears.
G5 will not power on after the battery sat unused in storage
Lithium-ion cells self-discharge during storage. If the pack drops below approximately 10.0V — the G5's BMS recovery threshold — the device won't boot because the controller reads the voltage as a damaged or unsafe cell. Connect the battery to the AC adapter and leave it for at least 30 minutes before attempting to power on. The charger applies a low-current recovery charge to bring the cell above the BMS wake threshold, after which normal charging resumes and the device boots.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Inogen One G5 is alarming low battery the moment I turn it on, even though it just finished charging — what's happening?
A new cell hasn't completed a learning cycle, so the G5's BMS maps its state-of-charge conservatively and triggers the alarm before the display catches up. This isn't a fault with the battery — it's the charge controller applying its OEM calibration to an uncalibrated cell. Run one full charge-discharge cycle: let the device run on the new battery until it shuts off automatically, then charge it back to 100%. The alarm won't repeat after that cycle.
The G5 powers off unexpectedly during use after fitting the replacement battery — it's not showing a low-battery warning first.
In the first 10 cycles, new cells deliver slightly less voltage under the compressor's peak load than a broken-in pack does. If the voltage dips below the BMS cutoff threshold during a high-draw moment — typically at flow settings 4 or 5 — the device shuts off as a protection event, not a battery-level warning. This stabilises as the cell conditions through use. For the first few cycles, keep flow settings at 3 or below and allow the pack to complete full charge-discharge cycles before running at maximum output.
The charge indicator on my G5 never reaches 100% on the first charge with the new battery — it stops at around 80–85%.
The G5's charge IC applies a conservative current limit when it first sees a new cell, which causes the charge to terminate early before the cell is fully topped off. This is a one-time behaviour. Remove the battery, reinsert it, and start a fresh charge cycle — the controller resets its limit and completes the full charge. If it still stops short, leave the AC adapter connected for an additional hour after the indicator stalls; the device applies a top-off trickle charge that finishes the cycle silently.
