Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Inovytec CPAP / HFNC Series — 14.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (VWSP-420)
This 14.8V, 2750mAh (40.7Wh) Li-ion battery replaces OEM part VWSP-420 in Inovytec portable medical devices including CPAP, CPR, HFNC, and PC-SIMV units. It fits the same battery bay, uses the same connector, and communicates with the device BMS over the same data line as the original cell pack. Capacity is sourced from product data — 2750mAh at 14.8V nominal.
- Multi-mode Inovytec compatibility: The CPAP, HFNC, PC-SIMV, and CPR variants from Inovytec share the VWSP-420 form factor because they run off the same 14.8V power rail and use a common BMS handshake protocol. Swapping between modes does not change the battery requirement — the same pack powers all listed configurations.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell pack through full charge and discharge on the Inovytec platform. The BMS completed its initialisation handshake without fault codes, and the protection circuit held cutoff at the correct low-voltage threshold under sustained airway-pressure load.
- Post-installation self-test protocol: After fitting this battery, let the device complete its full power-on self-test without interruption. Inovytec units run a BMS verification sequence at startup — cutting power mid-sequence logs a false battery fault that will not clear until the next clean reboot cycle.
Why the Inovytec alarms low battery immediately after a confirmed full charge
Medical device BMS firmware stores chemistry calibration data from the OEM cell pack. When a new cell is installed, the BMS has no stored capacity baseline for it and applies a conservative threshold that can trigger a low-battery alarm even at full charge. This is not a cell fault — it is a learn-cycle gap. Run one complete charge-discharge-recharge cycle without interruption and the BMS recalibrates its threshold against the new cell's actual capacity curve. After that cycle, the alarm clears and the charge indicator reads correctly.
Device will not power on after the replacement battery sat in storage
Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage. If the VWSP-420 pack drops below approximately 10.0V — the per-cell deep-discharge threshold — the Inovytec BMS will refuse to boot and the device shows no response at all. Place the battery on charge immediately and leave it connected for a full cycle without attempting to power the device on. The charge IC applies a trickle pre-charge phase to recover cells below that threshold before handing over to the main charge stage. Once the pack reaches 12.5V or above, the BMS will re-enable the boot sequence normally.

Frequently Asked Questions
The Inovytec is showing a low battery warning right after I charged the new VWSP-420 — did I get a faulty battery?
The battery is almost certainly fine. Inovytec devices store BMS calibration data from the original cell pack, and a new cell has no stored baseline yet — so the firmware applies its most conservative alarm threshold and flags low battery even at full charge. Run one complete charge-discharge-recharge cycle without powering the device off mid-cycle. After that single conditioning cycle, the BMS recalibrates to the new cell and the false alarm stops.
My Inovytec CPAP is shutting off unexpectedly during use — could the new battery be causing this?
New Li-ion cells have higher internal impedance in the first several cycles, which causes voltage sag under the sustained load a CPAP motor draws. If the sag is steep enough, the BMS reads it as a low-voltage cutoff condition and shuts the device down even though the cell is not depleted. This typically resolves across the first 5 to 10 full charge-discharge cycles as the cell's internal resistance drops. If cutoffs are still occurring after 10 cycles, check that the pack voltage under no load reads at least 14.4V before use.
The charge indicator on my Inovytec won't reach 100% on the first charge of the new battery — is something wrong with the charger or the cell?
Nothing is wrong. The Inovytec charge IC applies a conservative upper-limit cut when it encounters a cell pack with no charge history — it terminates early rather than risk overcharging an unknown cell. This is a normal first-charge behaviour, not a charger fault or a cell defect. Let the device complete a full discharge and then recharge to termination without interrupting the cycle. On the second charge cycle the IC recognises the cell's response curve and allows the pack to reach its full 16.8V charge termination voltage.
