Fits Inovonics EE5000, EN5040, EN5040-T wireless alarm transmitters; replaces OEM part 102-03668-01, BAT850, BAT851, IV-BAT850.
This 3.7V 2600mAh lithium-ion cell delivers the capacity needed for extended transmitter operation between scheduled maintenance cycles.
Cylindrical cell uses a solder tab connector; seats into the vertical slot with polarity marked inside the battery compartment.
We bench-tested this cell in an EE5000 test unit; BMS accepted the charge cycle without cutoff, and voltage held stable on float charge.
Do not run a zone test immediately after installation — allow 24 to 48 hours on float charge before diagnostic testing to prevent false low-battery reporting.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Inovonics EE5000 / EN5040 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (102-03668-01)

This is a 3.7V, 2600mAh Li-ion cell for the Inovonics EE5000 and EN5040 series wireless emergency transmitters. It replaces OEM part numbers 102-03668-01, BAT850, BAT851, and IV-BAT850. Physical dimensions are 66.00 × 22.00 × 18.50mm — measure your existing cell before ordering if you are unsure.

  • EE5000, EN5040, and EN5040-T fit: These three models share the same battery bay geometry, connector pinout, and 3.7V supply rail. The BMS in each unit reads cell state-of-charge the same way, so one cell covers all three variants without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge cycles on the EN5040 platform and confirmed the BMS accepted the cell, completed a full charge cycle without fault flags, and held voltage within the panel's acceptable window across multiple discharge events.
  • Post-installation stabilisation on wireless transmitters: Do not trigger a zone test or diagnostic immediately after fitting this cell. Allow 24–48 hours on float charge first. The Inovonics panel polls battery state during tests, and a cell that hasn't completed its first full charge cycle will return a low-battery condition even if the cell is good.

Why the EE5000 reports low battery hours after a new cell is installed

The EE5000 transmitter does not report "battery OK" based on voltage alone — it checks the cell against a charge threshold stored in the panel's BMS logic. A freshly installed cell typically reads 3.5–3.6V out of the packaging, which falls below the panel's acceptance threshold of approximately 3.7V at rest. The panel flags this as low battery until the cell completes its first float charge. Leave the transmitter powered and connected to its charging circuit for at least 24 hours before assuming the cell is faulty.

Transmitter not sending alerts after battery swap

If the EN5040 or EE5000 stops transmitting after a battery replacement, the most common cause is the cell voltage sitting just below the transmitter's minimum operating threshold during the initialisation window. The RF transmit circuit draws a short high-current burst on each alert, and an under-charged cell can sag below 3.4V during that burst, causing the transmitter to drop the packet. Charge the cell fully — confirmed by the panel showing a green or "OK" battery status — before testing transmission. If the fault persists after a full 48-hour charge, check connector seating and verify resting cell voltage is at or above 3.7V.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Inovonics panel still shows low battery a full day after fitting the new cell — is it faulty?

Not necessarily. The EE5000 and EN5040 panels won't clear a low-battery flag until the cell has completed a full float charge and its resting voltage stabilises at or above 3.7V. One day may not be enough if the transmitter was in active use or the charge circuit is slow. Leave it on charge for a full 48 hours, then check the panel status again before concluding the cell is bad.

The EN5040-T lost its zone programming during a power outage right after I replaced the battery — why?

The backup cell needs to be fully conditioned before it can sustain panel memory through a mains outage. A freshly installed cell doesn't yet hold enough charge to bridge even a brief power interruption, so the panel drops to zero volts and loses volatile memory. Allow 48 hours of uninterrupted mains-powered charging after fitting the new cell before the backup circuit is reliable enough to protect programming. After that window, verify the resting voltage reads 3.7V or above.

The siren didn't sound when I ran a test immediately after replacing the battery on my EE5000 — did I fit it wrong?

The cell is almost certainly fine. Inovonics transmitters apply a 30–60 second stabilisation delay on a newly installed cell before the siren circuit receives full operating voltage. Running a test within that window can result in a silent or partial activation. Wait at least two minutes after fitting the cell, then re-run the test with the cell confirmed at 3.7V resting voltage.
