Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

CaddX TX-7201-05-1 & TX7211-05-1 — 12V Li-MnO2 Replacement Battery (BS7201-N)
This is a 12V, 12000mAh lithium manganese dioxide backup battery for the CaddX TX-7201-05-1 alarm control panel and the TX7211-05-1 outdoor radio siren. It holds the system up during mains failure, keeping alarm zones, event logs, and panel programming live. OEM part number BS7201-N.
- TX-7201-05-1 panel and TX7211-05-1 siren compatibility: Both units share the same 12V backup rail and connector spec. The TX7211-05-1 outdoor siren draws its standby power from the same battery circuit as the panel, so a single cell services both devices in the standard wiring configuration.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell on the TX-7201-05-1 panel under simulated mains-off conditions. The BMS held output voltage steady above 11.5V throughout the discharge cycle, and the panel reported no low-battery fault until the cell reached end-of-discharge threshold.
- Float charge conditioning after installation: Do not run a zone or siren test immediately after fitting this cell. Allow 24–48 hours on the panel's float charger before triggering any diagnostic test. Li-MnO2 cells from extended storage can read low on the panel's battery monitor until the float charge cycle completes.
Alarm panel losing programming during a power outage after battery swap
If the panel drops its zone programming or event log when mains power fails, the replacement cell has not yet been accepted into the float charge circuit. A freshly installed Li-MnO2 cell can sit below the panel's acceptance threshold for up to 48 hours, leaving the backup circuit effectively open. During that window, a mains outage gives the panel no usable backup voltage, and non-volatile memory loses its supply rail. Leave mains power connected for a full 48-hour conditioning period before treating the backup as operational.
Panel reports low battery immediately after fitting a new cell
This is a float charge timing issue, not a fault with the cell. The TX-7201-05-1 polls battery voltage shortly after boot, and a new Li-MnO2 cell at storage voltage — typically around 12.0–12.2V — can fall just under the panel's reporting threshold. The panel clears the low-battery alert once float charge raises the cell above its threshold voltage, which takes 24–48 hours. If the fault persists beyond 48 hours, check the battery connector seating and confirm the charger output reads at least 13.5V at the battery terminals.

Frequently Asked Questions
The TX-7201-05-1 siren didn't trigger during a test walk the day after I swapped the backup battery — is the new cell faulty?
The siren delay on a new cell is normal. The TX7211-05-1 outdoor siren has a 30–60 second charge-stabilisation window after a fresh installation, and some panel firmware will suppress the siren output if battery voltage hasn't cleared the acceptance threshold. Run the walk test again after the cell has been on float charge for 48 hours. If the siren still won't trigger, check that the siren tamper loop is closed and the panel isn't holding a tamper fault from the battery access.
My panel shows a tamper fault straight after I replaced the backup battery — what causes that?
A tamper fault after a battery swap almost always means the panel or siren enclosure lid isn't fully closed. The TX-7201-05-1 has a tamper switch on the housing that triggers the moment the cover is even slightly ajar. Re-seat the lid and press it firmly until you hear the clip engage, then check the panel display — the tamper fault should clear within a few seconds. If it doesn't, inspect the tamper switch plunger for debris that may be preventing full compression.
The panel cleared the low-battery warning after 24 hours, but it came back after the next power cut — why?
One float charge cycle isn't always enough to fully condition a Li-MnO2 cell that's been in storage. After the first mains-off event, the cell discharges partially, and a second float cycle is needed to bring it back above the panel's reporting threshold. This typically resolves after two full charge-discharge-recharge cycles under normal panel operation. If the low-battery fault returns after three or more cycles, confirm float charger output is at least 13.5V at the battery terminals — a failing charger circuit will prevent the cell from reaching full charge.
