Fits Intermec CV61, CV61A, and 1011CM01 tablets; replaces OEM part numbers VE027-8018-A0 and A011AB01.
7.4V 3350mAh lithium-ion cell delivers full runtime on warehouse inventory scans and field data capture workflows.
Connector seats flush into the battery slot with a single locking tab; orientation marked on housing.
We bench-tested the BMS on an Intermec charger; fuel gauge IC accepted the new cell after first charge cycle.
After installation, run one full discharge to automatic shutoff then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this resets fuel gauge calibration and resolves the percentage display drift common after battery swaps on this platform.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Intermec CV61 / CV61A — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (VE027-8018-A0)

This 7.4V 3350mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original pack in the Intermec CV61 and CV61A rugged mobile computers, as well as the 1011CM01 variant. It matches the OEM voltage rail and connector footprint. Fits units used in warehouse scanning, inventory, and field data capture workflows.

  • CV61 and CV61A platform fit: Both the CV61 and CV61A share the same battery bay, voltage rail, and BMS handshake protocol. The 1011CM01 variant uses the same pack — one SKU covers all three.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through charge and discharge cycles on the CV61 platform. The BMS negotiated correctly with the device charge IC — no fault flags, no charge interruption, voltage held steady across the cycle.
  • Fuel gauge reset after installation: After fitting this battery, run the CV61 down to automatic shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. The CV61's fuel gauge IC is calibrated against the old cell — this single full cycle resets it against the new pack and resolves inaccurate percentage readings from the first boot.

CV61 shutting down at 20% remaining after battery replacement

The CV61 uses a fuel gauge IC that tracks charge state by measuring voltage curves from the previous cell. A new cell has a different voltage-to-capacity curve, so the IC misreads remaining charge and triggers a low-battery shutdown earlier than it should. This happens consistently on first use with a replacement pack. One full discharge-to-shutoff followed by a full uninterrupted charge resets the IC. After that cycle, the CV61 should hold charge to within a few percent of actual capacity before cutting out.

CV61 showing wrong battery percentage after swap

Swapping the battery pack doesn't reset the fuel gauge automatically — the CV61 wakes up and maps the new cell against stored calibration data from the old one. This produces readings that jump, stall, or drop faster than expected, especially between 80% and 40%. The fix is one complete recalibration cycle: discharge fully until the device shuts itself off, then charge to 100% without interruption. The percentage display stabilises after that cycle completes.

Frequently Asked Questions

My CV61 keeps shutting off at around 20% — is the new battery faulty?

It's not faulty. The CV61's fuel gauge IC was calibrated to the old cell's voltage curve, so it misreads the new pack and triggers a low-battery cutoff too early. Run the device down to automatic shutoff, then charge it uninterrupted to 100%. That single cycle recalibrates the IC against the new cell and moves the real cutoff back to where it should be — around 3.0V per cell.

The battery percentage on my CV61 is jumping around or dropping faster than expected from 100% — what's happening?

The fuel gauge hasn't seen a full voltage sweep on the new cell yet, so its state-of-charge estimate is drifting. This shows up as erratic percentage drops, sudden jumps, or a reading that stalls then falls sharply. One full discharge to automatic shutoff followed by a complete uninterrupted charge to 100% gives the IC enough data to map the new cell accurately. After that cycle, readings stabilise.

The CV61 feels warm while charging the new battery — should I be concerned?

Mild warmth during the first few charge cycles is normal. The charge IC on the CV61 runs a conditioning pass on a new cell, which generates slightly more heat than a routine top-up charge on a settled pack. If the device is hot to the touch or the charge stops and restarts repeatedly, check that the charging dock contacts are clean and making full contact. Normal charging warmth drops off after the first two or three full cycles.
