Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Samsung Tab A8 10.5 (SM-X200 / SM-X205) — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (HQ-6300SA)
This is a 3.85V, 6750mAh lithium-polymer battery for the Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 10.5-inch tablet. It fits SM-X200 (Wi-Fi) and SM-X205 (LTE) variants. If your Tab A8 10.5 drains fast, holds no charge, or won't power on, this cell replaces the original HQ-6300SA or HQ-6300SD directly.
- SM-X200 and SM-X205 fit: Both the Wi-Fi and LTE versions of the Tab A8 10.5 use the same physical cell size, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol. One battery covers both variants without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this battery through a full charge and load cycle on a Tab A8 10.5. The onboard charge IC accepted the cell without fault flags, and the BMS reported state-of-charge correctly after one calibration cycle.
- Fuel gauge recalibration after install: After fitting this battery, run the tablet down to automatic shutoff — don't force it off — then charge uninterrupted to 100%. The Tab A8 10.5's fuel gauge IC calibrates against the new cell during that first full cycle. Skipping this step causes the percentage display to read inaccurately for weeks.
Why the Tab A8 10.5 shuts down between 15% and 25% remaining
The Tab A8 10.5 drives a large IPS display and maintains a Wi-Fi or LTE radio simultaneously. Under that combined load, cell voltage drops faster than the fuel gauge IC can track. The BMS sees the voltage fall below its cutoff threshold before the displayed percentage reaches zero. A degraded or new uncalibrated cell makes this worse because the fuel gauge is still mapped to the old cell's discharge curve. Running one full discharge-to-shutoff cycle and recharging to 100% re-maps the curve and pushes the cutoff point back down toward 5–8%.
Fast charging not available on the Tab A8 10.5 after a battery swap
Samsung's adaptive fast charge on the Tab A8 10.5 relies on a successful USB-PD negotiation handshake between the charger, the charge IC, and the battery's BMS. On a fresh cell, the BMS sometimes rejects the higher voltage on the first accepted charge cycle and falls back to standard 5V charging. This is not a fault with the charger or the battery. Connect the original Samsung 15W adapter and complete one full uninterrupted charge to 100% — after that cycle the charge IC re-establishes the fast charge handshake and higher wattage charging resumes.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Tab A8 10.5 is showing 60% battery right after I installed the new battery — is the reading accurate?
No — the fuel gauge IC in the Tab A8 10.5 is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve, so the percentage will read incorrectly until it re-learns the new cell. Run the tablet down to automatic shutoff without forcing it off, then charge it uninterrupted to 100%. That single cycle re-maps the fuel gauge against the new cell. After that, the percentage display will track accurately.
The Tab A8 10.5 drops from 25% to dead with no warning — why is that happening?
The display and Wi-Fi radio together pull enough current to cause a sharp voltage sag under load. The BMS reads that voltage drop and trips the low-voltage cutoff before the percentage gauge catches up — so the tablet dies while still showing 20–25%. This happens most often with an uncalibrated cell. Run one full discharge to automatic shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% so the fuel gauge re-maps the voltage curve. After calibration, the shutoff point drops back to around 5–8% displayed charge.
My Tab A8 10.5 feels warm while charging after the battery replacement — is something wrong?
Warmth during charging on a new cell is normal. The charge IC runs a slightly higher conditioning current on the first few cycles while it characterises the new cell's internal resistance. We measured surface temps on the bench during a full charge cycle and they stayed within Samsung's thermal spec for this model. If the tablet becomes hot to the touch or shows a temperature warning on screen, disconnect the charger and check that the replacement cell is seated flat with no pressure on the connector — that is the only physical step needed.
