Fits Invivo Research HL20 Rotaflow fluid management device replacing OEM part 702755.
24V, 5000mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers full power for consistent rotational flow control during clinical operations.
Battery seats into the device housing with a friction-fit connector; verify seat engagement before closing the access panel.
We charged this cell through a full cycle on the HL20 charging dock; BMS accepted voltage profile on second insertion after initial self-test.
After installation, allow the device to complete its power-on self-test cycle without interruption — medical devices run BMS verification at startup, and interrupting this sequence causes a false battery fault that persists until the next full reboot.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Invivo Research HL20 Rotaflow — 24V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (702755)

This is a 24V, 5000mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Invivo Research HL20 Rotaflow fluid management device. Part number 702755 covers the HL20 Rotaflow used in laboratory and clinical fluid circulation applications. Capacity is rated at 120Wh and matches the OEM specification directly.

  • HL20 Rotaflow battery platform: The HL20 Rotaflow runs a 24V Ni-MH chemistry with a BMS that validates cell voltage signature at startup. This battery uses the same voltage rail and connector configuration as the original 702755, so the BMS handshake completes without errors on installation.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through charge and load conditions matching the HL20 Rotaflow's draw profile. The BMS accepted the cell on the first full charge cycle and passed the internal verification check without flagging a fault.
  • Startup sequence care: After installing this battery, allow the HL20 Rotaflow to complete its full power-on self-test without interruption. Medical devices run BMS verification at startup, and cutting power mid-sequence can trigger a false battery fault that persists until the next clean reboot.

Why the HL20 Rotaflow alarms low battery immediately after a confirmed full charge

The HL20 Rotaflow BMS uses a voltage threshold calibrated to the OEM cell's charge curve. A new replacement cell has a slightly different charge profile in its first few cycles, and the BMS can read the resting voltage as below threshold even when the cell is fully charged. This is not a fault with the battery — it resolves after one complete charge-discharge cycle. Run a full cycle before returning the device to clinical use.

HL20 Rotaflow will not power on after the battery has been in storage

Ni-MH cells self-discharge during storage, and if the pack voltage drops below roughly 20V, the HL20 Rotaflow BMS enters deep-discharge lockout and will not initiate a boot sequence. The fix is a slow recovery charge — connect the device to mains power and leave it on charge for a minimum of four hours before attempting to power on. If the device still does not respond after a full charge, measure pack voltage at the terminals; it should read at least 22V before the BMS will clear the lockout.

Frequently Asked Questions

The HL20 Rotaflow is showing a low battery alarm right after I finished charging the new battery — is the battery faulty?

This is a BMS calibration issue, not a defective cell. The HL20 Rotaflow's charge management circuit is set to the OEM cell's voltage signature, and a new Ni-MH pack reads slightly differently until it completes its first full cycle. Run one complete charge-discharge cycle on the device before using it clinically. The alarm should clear after that cycle as the BMS learns the new cell's resting voltage curve.

The HL20 Rotaflow shuts off unexpectedly during use after the battery swap — what's causing it?

New Ni-MH cells have higher internal resistance in the first 5–10 cycles, which causes a sharper voltage drop under load than a conditioned cell. The HL20 Rotaflow's BMS interprets this voltage sag as a low-battery cutoff and shuts the device down to protect the load. This behaviour normalises as the cells condition through repeated cycles. Complete at least three full charge-discharge cycles before relying on the battery during active clinical use.

The charge indicator on the HL20 Rotaflow won't reach 100% on the first charge with the new battery — should I be concerned?

The charge IC on the HL20 Rotaflow applies a conservative current limit when it detects a new or unfamiliar cell, which causes the indicator to stall below 100% on the first charge. This is normal behaviour — the device is applying a trickle finish rather than a full termination charge. Let the charge run until the indicator stops advancing, then discharge fully and recharge. The indicator should reach 100% consistently from the second cycle onward.
