Fits iRobot Braava 380, 380T, 381 mopping robots using OEM part numbers GPRHC202N026, 4409709, or W206001001399.
7.2V at 1500mAh delivers 10.8Wh — restores full tank cycles on hard floor runs without cutout.
Connector seats straight into the battery slot with no rotation; locking tab clicks firmly when seated.
We bench-tested the Ni-MH cell through five full discharge cycles — BMS delivered steady voltage through tank-empty detection.
Do not leave this pack on the charging dock continuously after reaching full charge — Ni-MH cells on trickle charge degrade capacity faster than units charged only when depleted, so remove when full.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

iRobot Braava 380 Series — 7.2V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (GPRHC202N026)

This is a 7.2V, 1500mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the iRobot Braava 380, 380T, 381, and 5200B hard floor mopping robots. It slots into the battery compartment and restores power to the automated wet and dry mopping cycle. Capacity is rated at 1500mAh (10.8Wh), matching the original specification.

  • Braava 380 series compatibility: The 380, 380T, 381, and 5200B all share the same battery bay dimensions and 7.2V power rail. The BMS handshake protocol is identical across these variants, so the same cell works across the group without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and discharge cycles on a Braava 380T. The BMS accepted the charge without fault codes, voltage held steady through both wet and dry mopping sequences, and cutoff triggered cleanly at the low-voltage threshold.
  • Ni-MH cycle care for mopping robots: The Braava 380 charges the battery inside the unit between sessions. Do not leave the robot plugged in on the charging cradle indefinitely after a full charge — Ni-MH cells develop capacity fade faster under continuous trickle charge than when stored off the charger between uses.

Why the Braava 380 stops mid-cycle before the battery indicator drops to low

Ni-MH cells deliver a relatively flat discharge curve until voltage drops sharply near depletion. The Braava's BMS monitors this voltage curve and cuts power when the cell can no longer sustain the motor load — this can happen abruptly rather than gradually. An aged cell hits this drop-off point much earlier in the cycle because usable capacity has shrunk even though the battery appeared charged. Replacing the cell resets the full discharge range and restores consistent mid-cycle performance.

Braava 380 shows a full charge but stops working after a few passes

This is a classic symptom of capacity fade in a degraded Ni-MH pack — the charger reads voltage as acceptable, but the cell can no longer hold charge across a full work cycle. Internally, individual cells in the pack have lost capacity unevenly, so the pack voltage looks healthy at rest but collapses under load. The fix is replacing the battery, not reconditioning. After fitting the new cell, run a full charge to 7.2V before the first mopping session.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Braava 380 stops mopping partway through but the battery light doesn't show low — what's happening?

This is voltage sag under motor load, not a false reading. The Ni-MH pack drops voltage sharply once it passes peak capacity, and the BMS cuts the motor before the indicator catches up. It happens when the cell has degraded enough that actual usable capacity no longer matches what the charge indicator expects. Replacing the battery is the only fix — recycle the old pack and fit a fresh cell.

The replacement battery isn't being recognised by the Braava 380 charger — the charge light won't come on.

The Braava's charger uses a basic voltage-sensing handshake to confirm a valid pack is seated. If the contacts aren't fully making contact or the cell voltage has dropped too low from sitting discharged, the charger may not initiate. Remove the battery, clean the contacts with a dry cloth, reseat it firmly, and reconnect the charger. If the cell shipped deeply discharged, some chargers require a brief manual boost to 6.5V before the charger will engage — check that the pack reads at least 5V with a multimeter before concluding there's a fault.

My Braava 380's battery seems to hold less and less charge after only a few months — is that normal?

Ni-MH cells degrade faster when left on continuous trickle charge between uses. If the Braava sits on the dock plugged in all the time, the charger applies a low-level maintenance current that stresses the cells over hundreds of hours. Charge the robot fully, then unplug and store it off the dock until the next use. This single change significantly slows capacity fade in Ni-MH packs compared to permanent dock charging.
