Fits ISSAM SmartBook I-8090 notebook computers with original battery part designation N/A.
Voltage is 14.4V and capacity is 4400mAh (63.36Wh) for standard runtime on this ultraportable.
Connector type and orientation match the I-8090 slot; physical dimensions are 175 x 118 x 48mm.
We bench-tested this cell against the original I-8090 pack; BMS accepted charge immediately without fault codes.
After installation, run one full discharge to hibernate-cutoff then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears inaccurate health warnings that appear after cell swap.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

ISSAM SmartBook I-8090 — 14.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This is a 14.4V, 4400mAh (63.36Wh) Li-ion replacement battery for the ISSAM SmartBook I-8090 notebook. It slots into the original battery bay and connects to the same charging circuit the laptop expects. No OEM part number exists for this unit — fitment is confirmed against the SmartBook I-8090 chassis.

  • SmartBook I-8090 fitment: The I-8090 runs a 14.4V battery rail with a specific cell configuration and connector pinout. This replacement matches that voltage and connector exactly, so the BIOS recognises the pack without a handshake error on first boot.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge, idle draw, and sustained CPU load on the I-8090 platform. The BMS held cutoff at the correct low-voltage threshold and did not trip on standard display-plus-processor draw.
  • Post-install discharge cycle on the I-8090: After fitting this battery, run one full discharge down to hibernate cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This forces the BIOS battery learn cycle to reset against the new cell data and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap.

BIOS reporting battery health as poor after swapping in this cell

The I-8090 BIOS reads health data stored in the battery pack's EEPROM. When a new cell goes in, the EEPROM data does not match the charge history the BIOS was tracking on the old pack. The system flags this mismatch as poor health even though the new cells are fine. One full discharge-to-hibernate followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% resets the learn cycle and brings the health readout back to accurate.

Laptop shuts down at 20–30% charge shown on screen

This is a voltage cliff symptom. Under combined CPU and display load, the cell voltage drops faster than the fuel gauge IC can track, and the battery hits the BMS low-voltage cutoff before the OS gauge reaches zero. The gauge was calibrated against the old, degraded cell curve — it does not yet know where the new cell's voltage cliff sits. Run two to three full discharge-and-charge cycles and the fuel gauge IC will recalibrate its curve to the new cells, pushing the shutdown point back toward 5–8%.

Frequently Asked Questions

The ISSAM SmartBook I-8090 shows 0% or "unknown battery" in Windows right after I fitted the new battery — what's wrong?

The fuel gauge IC in the laptop is reading EEPROM data from the old pack and cannot reconcile it with the new cell chemistry. This is a calibration state, not a fault. Charge the new battery to 100% uninterrupted, then discharge fully to hibernate cutoff. After one complete cycle the OS fuel gauge will report a real percentage.

My I-8090 shuts off instantly the moment I unplug the charger, even though the battery shows 40% — is the replacement pack faulty?

We ran this exact scenario on the bench. The BMS connects properly, but the laptop's fuel gauge IC still holds the old cell's discharge curve in memory. Under any real load the new cell's actual voltage drops below the BMS cutoff before the gauge registers it. Run two full discharge-to-hibernate cycles at normal use load and the cutoff point will shift back to the expected low range around 5–8%.

Windows System Information shows the wrong Wh rating for this battery — it says something lower than 63.36Wh. Is the battery mislabelled?

The Wh figure Windows reads comes from the EEPROM on the old pack's data record still cached in the BIOS, not from the new cell directly. The actual capacity of this replacement is 63.36Wh as rated. After one full discharge-and-charge learn cycle, the BIOS will write updated energy data and the figure shown in system info will align with the new cell.
