Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Jabra Pro 9460 / Pro 9470 Series — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (14192-00)
This 3.7V 230mAh Li-Polymer cell replaces the OEM pack in the Jabra Pro 9460, Pro 9465, Pro 9470, and Pro 9450 wireless DECT headsets. It matches the original 14192-00 / AHB412434PJ spec and fits the same physical slot. Use it when the existing battery no longer holds a charge through a normal call session.
- Pro 9460 / 9465 / 9470 / 9450 platform fit: These models share the same 3.7V cell format, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol with the base station — which is why one part number covers the whole series.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and discharge cycles on a Pro 9460 unit. The BMS completed the handshake with the base station, charge status reported correctly, and the protection circuit tripped cleanly at the low-voltage threshold.
- First-cycle base station protocol: On first use, dock the headset in the base station and let it complete a full uninterrupted charge cycle before taking any calls. DECT headsets log the new cell's capacity during that first cycle — skip it and the talk-time indicator will read inaccurately for days.
Base station not recognising the new pack after fitting
The Pro 9460 base communicates with the headset's BMS before it begins charging. If the pack arrives at storage voltage — typically around 3.6V — the base may not initiate the charge handshake on the first dock. Remove the headset, wait 10 seconds, and re-dock it. If the charge LED still does not activate, the BMS needs a wake-up: connect the headset via USB if your base supports it, or hold it in the cradle for 90 seconds until the circuit registers. After the handshake completes, a normal charge cycle will begin.
Headset cuts out mid-call even with the battery showing charged
This happens when the cell drops below the BMS cutoff voltage under the combined load of the audio driver and the DECT radio transmitter — a load spike the resting voltage reading does not predict. On a new cell, it most commonly occurs in the first three to five cycles before the Li-Polymer electrolyte has fully conditioned. Run three complete charge-to-discharge cycles through normal call use and check whether the cutout moves later into the session. If it persists past five cycles, check that the base cradle contacts are clean and making full contact — a resistive connection raises effective load and pulls voltage down faster.

Frequently Asked Questions
The base station shows a full charge but the headset dies after just a few minutes on a call — what's going on?
A new Li-Polymer cell often arrives at storage voltage, around 3.6V, and the base may log it as "full" without completing a true charge cycle. The cell simply does not have enough capacity available yet. Dock the headset and let it complete one full, uninterrupted charge cycle — several hours in the cradle with no calls. After that first proper cycle, the talk-time behaviour normalises.
Talk time is noticeably shorter than the rated spec for the first week — is the battery faulty?
It is not faulty. Li-Polymer cells condition over the first three to five full charge-discharge cycles, and the available capacity increases each time. We measured a clear improvement in usable capacity between cycle one and cycle five on the bench. Run the headset through normal call use until it needs charging, then dock it fully — repeat this three to five times and talk time will reach the rated level.
The headset gets warm on long calls and the audio starts breaking up near the end of the session — is this a battery issue?
Yes, partly. The Pro 9460 housing is compact, and the combined draw from the audio driver and DECT radio in a small enclosure generates heat that affects cell voltage stability. Sustained heat accelerates voltage sag toward the end of a charge cycle, which the BMS reads as low voltage and throttles transmission power to protect the cell — causing audio breakup. If this happens consistently, check that the headset speaker mesh is clear of debris so the housing can dissipate heat, and ensure the cell has completed at least five conditioning cycles before drawing conclusions about performance.
