Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Karcher Cordless Lawn Mower — 36V Li-ion Replacement Battery
A 36V 5000mAh (180Wh) Li-ion replacement battery for the Kärcher 36V cordless garden tool platform. Fits the LMO 36-40 and LMO 36-46 cordless push mowers, plus the 36V Leaf Blower LBL 4 and other compatible tools in the same voltage family. One battery pack, multiple tools — that's the point of the shared 36V platform.
- Shared 36V platform compatibility: The LMO 36-40, LMO 36-46, and LBL 4 all draw from the same 36V rail with a common connector and BMS handshake, which is why one pack services all of them.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran full charge/discharge cycles — the BMS held voltage steady under mowing load and tripped cleanly at the low-voltage cutoff without triggering a fault state.
- First charge on a new pack: Run a full charge before first use and let the mower fully discharge at least once — this lets the BMS calibrate its state-of-charge readings accurately from the start.
Why 180Wh matters for a 40cm cutting deck
The LMO 36-40 draws significantly more current in mulching mode than in standard collection mode — the blade speed stays constant but the motor works harder through thick clippings. A 5000mAh pack at 36V gives enough headroom to handle that load without the BMS throttling output early. Thicker or damp grass will draw more current; dry, short grass will draw less.
Battery shows full charge but mower loses power quickly — here's why
This usually means the BMS has lost calibration, not that the cells are failing. It reads 100% at rest but can't accurately track discharge under real motor load. The fix is straightforward: charge the pack to full, run the mower until it shuts off on low-voltage cutoff, then charge fully again. One or two full cycles resets the BMS reference points and restores accurate charge reporting.

Frequently Asked Questions
Mower cuts fine then suddenly stops mid-lawn and won't restart for a few minutes — what's happening?
That's thermal cutoff triggering in the battery pack, not a fault with the cells themselves. The LMO 36-40 pulls hard through thick or damp grass, and a 36V Li-ion pack will shut itself down before it overheats to protect the cells. Let the battery sit off the mower for around 10 minutes and check whether the tool restarts normally — if it does, thermal cutoff was the cause. To reduce how often it trips, raise the cutting height one notch and avoid mowing wet grass.
New battery fits in the mower but the blade won't spin — no lights, no error, just nothing happens?
A brand-new Li-ion pack sometimes ships in a deep sleep state after sitting in storage, and the mower's trigger circuit won't wake it the way a charger will. Seat the battery in its Kärcher 36V charger first and confirm the charge indicator shows activity — even a briefly flashing light means the pack is recovering. If the charger shows no response at all, press the battery's charge-level button and check whether any LEDs light; zero LEDs on a new pack points to a sleep-state that needs a slow-charge wake cycle. Leave it on charge for a full cycle before fitting it back in the mower.
Battery shows full charge but the mower bogs down and loses power halfway through a normal-sized lawn?
Voltage sag under load is the likely cause — the pack reads full at rest but can't hold voltage once the blade motor demands current through dense grass. This is more pronounced if the previous battery was heavily cycled and you're comparing performance, or if the new pack hasn't completed its first two or three full charge-discharge cycles, which is when Li-ion cells settle into their rated capacity. Check the resting voltage with a multimeter after a full charge; a healthy 36V Li-ion pack should read between 40V and 42V off the charger. If the reading is normal but sag persists after three cycles, the issue is more likely a partially blocked deck or a dull blade increasing motor load — clean the underside and check blade condition before assuming the battery is the problem.
