Fits Kärcher 9.769-388.0 cordless lawn mower battery slot and replaces OEM pack directly.
18.5V 5200mAh lithium-ion delivers full power to cutting motor and drive system on residential mowers.
Connector seats straight into Kärcher mower pack cavity with positive contact pins aligned front-center.
We bench-tested the BMS on a Kärcher motor simulator — cell voltage held steady under blade load, no early cutoff observed.
Before first spring use, bring this pack indoors overnight if outdoor temperatures are below 10°C to prevent cold-start BMS trips under blade motor inrush.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Karcher 9.769-388.0 — 18.5V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This 18.5V 5200mAh (96.2Wh) Li-ion battery replaces the OEM pack in Kärcher cordless lawn mowers using part number 9.769-388.0. It fits the cutting motor and drive system on the same voltage rail as the original. Dimensions are 217.30 × 67.70 × 32.30mm — confirm these against your existing pack before ordering.

  • Blade motor and drive compatibility: The 9.769-388.0 battery runs both the cutting blade motor and the self-propel drive on the same 18.5V rail. The BMS in this pack is tuned to handle the inrush current spike when the blade engages — that spike is significantly higher than steady-state draw.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through full load conditions, including repeated blade motor starts under resistance. The BMS held without tripping at rated current. Cell voltage recovery between discharge events matched OEM spec.
  • Seasonal start-up tip: Before your first mow of spring, bring the battery indoors overnight if temperatures are below 10°C. Cold Li-ion cells have higher internal resistance, and the blade motor's inrush current can trip the BMS on a cold pack before the cells have a chance to warm up.

BMS cutoff on thick-grass or wet-grass blade load

When the mower hits dense or wet grass, blade resistance spikes sharply. The motor draws a short burst of current well above normal operating load. If the BMS reads that spike as an overcurrent event, it cuts power to protect the cells. This is not a faulty battery — it is the protection circuit doing its job. To reduce trips, mow in overlapping half-width passes through heavy growth rather than full-width cuts.

Charger refusing to accept the pack after winter storage

Li-ion cells that sit unused over winter can self-discharge below the charger's acceptance threshold — typically around 2.5V per cell. When voltage drops below that floor, the charger detects an out-of-range pack and refuses to start a charge cycle. Place the pack in a warm room (above 15°C) for several hours, then retry the charger. If the charger still shows a fault, attempt a recovery charge using a charger with a wake-up or recovery mode — target a minimum of 3.0V per cell before switching to a standard charge cycle.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Kärcher mower cuts out halfway through a row, then starts again after a minute — what's happening?

This is thermal protection activating, not a faulty battery. The blade motor generates sustained heat under load, and the BMS cuts power when internal temperature hits the cutoff threshold. Once the pack cools slightly, the BMS resets and power returns. Allow at least a 5-minute cooldown between cutting sessions in hot weather or when tackling dense grass, and mow in narrower passes to reduce sustained motor load.

The new battery runs noticeably warmer than my old one did — should I be concerned?

New Li-ion cells typically run warmer than a degraded pack during the first several charge and discharge cycles. Fresh cells have lower internal resistance than worn cells, so they can deliver more current — and more current means more heat at load. This normalises after 4 to 5 full cycles. If the pack is too hot to hold comfortably against your palm after a mow, stop using it and check that the battery contacts are clean and fully seated.

The mower performs fine on warm days but feels noticeably underpowered on cold mornings — is the battery defective?

It is not defective — this is a known characteristic of Li-ion chemistry below 10°C. Cold cells have higher internal resistance, which limits how much current they can deliver to the blade motor. The result is reduced torque and shorter effective run time until the pack warms up through use. Store the battery indoors before a cold-morning mow and wait until ambient temperature is above 10°C before starting — blade performance will be close to rated output once the cells reach operating temperature.
