This 18V 2000mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original pack in the Karcher VC 4i, VC 4i Plus, and VC 4i Cordless handheld vacuum cleaners. It also fits the 064200 model. Voltage and capacity match the OEM specification exactly — 18V nominal, 36Wh total energy.

  • VC 4i platform compatibility: The VC 4i, VC 4i Plus, VC 4i Cordless, and 064200 all share the same 18V battery rail, connector format, and BMS handshake protocol. One cell fits all four without any adapter or modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and discharge cycles on VC 4i hardware. The BMS responded correctly to charge termination, over-discharge cutoff, and motor-start current draw without tripping or resetting abnormally.
  • Dock charging habit for VC 4i users: Do not leave the VC 4i sitting on the charging dock permanently. Continuous dock charge exposes Li-ion cells to sustained trickle current, which accelerates capacity fade. Charge to full, then remove from the dock until the next use.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low

The VC 4i motor draws significantly more current when the filter is partially blocked — even a partially clogged filter can push draw well above the normal operating range. When current spikes, the BMS reads it as a potential overcurrent event and reduces output to protect the cell. The result is a noticeable suction drop that looks like battery exhaustion but is not. Check and clean the filter first before assuming the battery is at fault.

Motor cutting out mid-clean and recovering after a short pause

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a faulty battery. Sustained restricted airflow — from a clogged filter or blocked nozzle — forces the motor to pull more current than the BMS protection threshold allows. The BMS cuts the circuit, the vacuum stops, and after cooling or reset it restarts. Clear the filter and nozzle completely, then test again. If cut-outs stop, the battery is functioning correctly and the restriction was the cause.

Why does my VC 4i lose suction strength well before the battery light shows low?

A partially blocked filter forces the motor to draw higher current to maintain airflow. That elevated draw causes voltage sag at the cell, which the motor reads as low power — not the BMS tripping, just the motor underperforming under load. Clean or replace the filter and the suction level at the same battery state will recover. Test with a clean filter before concluding the battery has faded.

The VC 4i keeps cutting out and restarting on its own mid-clean — what's causing that?

The BMS is tripping on overcurrent, then resetting once the thermal or current threshold clears. This almost always happens when the nozzle or filter is partially blocked, pushing motor draw above the protection limit. Clear any blockage in the filter, nozzle, and hose, then run again. If cut-outs stop entirely, the battery is not the fault — the restriction was triggering the trip.

My replacement battery shows a full charge but the VC 4i runs noticeably shorter than it used to — is the new cell at fault?

A partially blocked filter is the most common cause — restricted airflow makes the motor draw more current than rated, burning through charge faster than normal. Before blaming the cell, clean the filter fully and retest. If runtime improves, the filter was the cause. If it does not, check that the charger reached a proper full-charge termination voltage of 21V before the session started.
