Fits KCI Info VAC Therapy Unit and VAC Freedom Therapy Unit, replaces OEM battery part numbers 340426, 60050, B11734, M3252795-A, OM0117, OM11734.
12V 2100mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers 25.2Wh capacity to sustain portable wound therapy cycles without external power during patient mobility.
Connector seats into the battery slot with a single locking tab that prevents accidental ejection during therapy application or transport.
We bench tested this cell in the Info VAC charging circuit and confirmed the BMS accepts the Ni-MH handshake on the first full charge cycle.
After installation, allow the device to complete its full power-on self-test cycle without interruption — the medical device BMS verifies cell chemistry at startup, and stopping this sequence triggers a false low-battery fault that persists until the next reboot.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

KCI Info VAC Therapy Unit — 12V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (340426)

This is a 12V, 2100mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the KCI Info VAC and VAC Freedom Therapy Units. It fits devices running OEM part numbers 340426, 60050, B11734, M3252795-A, OM0117, and OM11734. The battery powers the portable negative pressure wound therapy unit, maintaining suction output during patient mobility.

  • Info VAC and VAC Freedom platform fit: Both units share the same 12V battery rail, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. A single cell format covers both devices without modification or adapter.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through the Info VAC's charge IC and confirmed the BMS completed cell recognition without fault codes. Charge termination triggered correctly at full capacity on the second cycle.
  • Post-swap self-test protocol: After fitting this battery, allow the device to complete its full power-on self-test without interruption. The Info VAC runs a BMS verification sequence at startup — cutting power during this window registers a battery fault that persists until the next clean reboot.

Why the Info VAC alarms low battery immediately after a confirmed full charge

The Info VAC's charge controller compares cell voltage against an OEM-calibrated threshold during self-test. A new Ni-MH cell sits slightly below peak resting voltage until it completes one full charge-discharge cycle. The BMS interprets this as a marginal cell and triggers the low-battery alarm even when the pack is fully charged. Run one complete cycle — full charge, allow the device to draw the battery down through normal use, then recharge fully — before trusting the indicator in a clinical setting.

Charge indicator stalls below 100% on first charge

The Info VAC's charge IC applies a conservative current limit when it encounters a new or previously discharged Ni-MH cell. This causes the charge indicator to plateau and appear stuck, typically between 85–95%. The cell is still accepting charge — the IC is simply rate-limiting until internal resistance normalises. Let the charge cycle complete uninterrupted; resting voltage on a full Ni-MH cell at 12V nominal should read approximately 13.2–13.8V across the pack terminals before use.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Info VAC powers on but shuts off mid-treatment — new battery, full charge showing. What's happening?

New Ni-MH cells have higher internal resistance in their first 10 cycles, which causes voltage sag under the sustained load the Info VAC draws during active suction. The device's undervoltage protection reads this sag as a depleted pack and cuts power to protect the therapy unit. This is not a faulty battery — it resolves as the cells condition through use. Run three to five full charge-discharge cycles before relying on the battery during active patient treatment.

The device won't power on at all after the replacement battery sat in storage for several months before installation.

Ni-MH cells self-discharge at roughly 1–3% per day, and a pack stored several months can drop below the Info VAC's BMS recovery threshold — typically around 10.5V for a 12V pack. The BMS will not initiate a charge cycle on a cell it reads as excessively depleted, leaving the device unresponsive. Connect the device to mains power for at least 60 minutes before attempting to power on — the charge IC will trickle-charge the pack back above the recovery threshold, after which a normal charge cycle can begin.

After swapping the battery, the Info VAC shows a battery fault on the screen even though the pack is fully charged.

This is a BMS learn-cycle fault, not a cell defect. The Info VAC's self-test runs a chemistry verification check at startup, and a new cell that hasn't completed its first full cycle won't match the stored discharge profile. Power the device off completely, leave it off for 30 seconds, then restart with mains power connected. Allow the startup self-test to finish without interruption — the fault clears once the BMS registers a complete charge-discharge cycle and resets its learned capacity baseline.
