Sale priceFrom $37.99 USD Regular price $46.99
Shipping calculated at checkout.
Fits Kirisun DP405, DPP418D, S565, and S760 portable radios; replaces OEM part KB-760 and KB-760B.
7.4V Li-ion chemistry delivers 2000mAh capacity; provides sufficient voltage stability for sustained RF transmission without sag-related power drops.
Connector seats into the radio's battery slot with a single locking tab; gold contact strip aligns at the pack base.
We ran the pack on bench with a Kirisun dock charger; BMS accepted handshake on first cycle, current draw stable at rated TX load.
If the charger dock shows a fault LED after inserting this cell, remove the battery, wipe the gold contact strip with a dry cloth, and reseat firmly — the Kirisun platform requires a clean contact cycle to accept the new BMS handshake before charging begins.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Kirisun DP405 / S760 Series — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (KB-760)

This 7.4V, 2000mAh Li-ion pack replaces the KB-760 and KB-760B batteries in Kirisun portable two-way radios. It fits the DP405, DPP418D, S565, S760, and five additional Kirisun models sharing the same battery bay and connector. Voltage and capacity match OEM spec — no modification needed.

  • DP405 / S760 platform fit: These models share a common 7.4V rail, identical connector pinout, and the same BMS handshake protocol. One pack covers the full platform because the dock recognises the same cell configuration on first insertion.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through a full charge and transmit-load cycle. The BMS held the voltage rail steady under simulated PTT burst draws, and the protection circuit tripped correctly at the low-voltage threshold without latching into lockout.
  • First-insertion contact check: If the charger dock shows a fault LED on first insertion, pull the battery and wipe the gold contact strip with a dry cloth before reseating. The Kirisun dock needs a clean contact cycle to complete the BMS handshake before charging starts.

Why the DP405 cuts out mid-transmission on a new KB-760

A new Li-ion cell ships at storage voltage — typically 3.6–3.7V per cell, not full charge. When you key up on a fresh-out-of-box pack, the transmit current spike can pull the pack voltage below the BMS undervoltage threshold before the cells are fully charged. The BMS interprets this as a fault and shuts down output. A full charge cycle before first use brings each cell to 4.2V and gives the BMS enough headroom to handle the TX surge without tripping.

Bar indicator showing one fewer bar than expected after fitting KB-760

The Kirisun S760 and DP405 use a voltage-threshold bar indicator — each bar maps to a specific pack voltage band. A new cell at storage voltage sits in the second or third threshold band, so the radio displays fewer bars even though the pack is not depleted. This is not a fault with the cell. Charge the pack fully in the dock until the LED goes green, then reinsert — the indicator will read the correct band at 8.4V full charge.

Frequently Asked Questions

My DP405 transmits fine for a few seconds then cuts out — new KB-760 battery just fitted

This is a BMS overcurrent trip caused by the transmit current spike hitting an undercharged cell. New Li-ion packs ship at storage voltage and don't have enough headroom to sustain the PTT surge. Pull the battery, charge it fully in the dock until the LED goes green, then retry. A fully charged cell at 4.2V per cell won't trip the threshold under normal burst transmission.

Kirisun charger dock blinks fault LED and never clears after inserting the replacement pack

The dock is rejecting the BMS handshake, almost always because the contact strip has residue or the pack voltage is below the dock's acceptance threshold. Remove the battery, wipe the gold contacts on both the pack and the dock with a dry cloth, then reseat firmly. If the LED still blinks, the pack needs a bench boost to bring it above 6.0V before the dock will begin a normal charge cycle.

Radio drops to noticeably weaker TX output after a few hours into the shift — pack still shows bars

This is voltage sag under sustained RF load — the cell voltage is dropping under draw even though the bar indicator hasn't stepped down yet. The bar indicator only updates at discrete voltage thresholds, so the radio can be running lean before the display reflects it. Sustained high-power transmit draws more current than intermittent use, and an ageing or partially degraded cell can't hold the voltage rail steady. If this happens on a new pack, verify the dock completed a full charge cycle to 8.4V before the shift started.
