Fits Kodak PIXPRO S1, S-1, AZ651, and AZ651 Astro Zoom cameras; replaces OEM part LB-070.
7.4V and 1150mAh lithium-ion cell delivers 8.51Wh for full shooting sessions without mid-session recharge cycles.
Connector slides into camera battery slot with positive terminal forward; locking tab seats flush against camera body frame.
We bench-tested charge acceptance in the S1 body; BMS handshake completed on first insertion without fault indicators.
On first use, run one full charge cycle inside the camera body before extended shooting—Kodak firmware requires this cycle to map battery percentage display accurately.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Kodak PIXPRO S1 / AZ651 — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (LB-070)

This is a 7.4V, 1150mAh Li-ion replacement for the Kodak LB-070 battery. It fits the PIXPRO S1, PIXPRO S-1, PIXPRO AZ651, and PIXPRO AZ651 Astro Zoom cameras. Same voltage, same form factor, same connector as the original cell.

  • PIXPRO S1 and AZ651 platform fit: These models share the same battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol — all running from a common 7.4V Li-ion rail. One cell works across the whole group without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the PIXPRO platform. The BMS accepted the cell, reported charge state without lockout, and held voltage within spec across the discharge curve.
  • First-cycle conditioning on camera BMS: On first install, run a complete charge cycle through the camera body or OEM charger before heavy shooting. The PIXPRO BMS maps battery-remaining percentage against the cell's discharge curve — skipping this step can cause the indicator to read erratically until the camera has calibrated against the new cell.

Flash output dropping mid-shoot on a freshly charged cell

The PIXPRO AZ651's flash capacitor draws a concentrated burst of current each recycle cycle. As the cell discharges past roughly 7.0V, recharge time for that capacitor increases — the camera may fire the flash at reduced output or delay the ready signal. This is voltage sag under capacitor load, not a faulty cell. Swapping to a freshly charged replacement mid-session is the fastest fix when flash lag becomes noticeable.

Battery percentage jumping erratically after fitting a new cell

The PIXPRO S1 maps its battery indicator against a discharge curve calibrated to the original cell. A new cell with a slightly different discharge profile can confuse that mapping — you may see the percentage jump from 80% to 40% with no warning. This is a calibration issue, not a defective battery. Run one full charge-to-empty cycle inside the camera body and the indicator will stabilise against the new cell's actual curve.

Frequently Asked Questions

My PIXPRO S1 shows "No Battery" after fitting the new LB-070 replacement — is the cell dead?

The PIXPRO S1 runs a BMS authentication check on every new cell at first install. If the camera hasn't yet completed a charge handshake with the new cell, it can reject it and display the no-battery warning even on a charged replacement. Insert the cell and charge it fully via the camera body or OEM charger first, then power on — most cameras accept the cell immediately after that first charge cycle completes.

Shot count on the AZ651 Astro Zoom is much lower than I expected — what's pulling the draw down?

The AZ651's long zoom mechanism, continuous autofocus, optical image stabilisation, and EVF together draw significantly more current than a basic point-and-shoot. The CIPA shot-count spec is measured under controlled flash and interval conditions that don't reflect sustained zoom or video use. If you're shooting at full telephoto with AF tracking active, expect noticeably fewer frames per charge than the rated figure — that's normal load behaviour, not a capacity fault in the cell.

The PIXPRO AZ651 body gets warm during long video clips — is the battery overheating?

The heat comes from the image sensor, image processor, and stabilisation motor running simultaneously — not the cell itself. Under sustained video, combined draw can push the battery's output current toward the upper end of its rated range, which does produce some warmth at the battery contacts. If the body becomes hot enough to trigger an auto-shutdown, let it rest for a few minutes and check that the battery contacts are clean and making full contact before resuming recording.
