This is a 7.4V, 850mAh Li-ion replacement cell for the Kodak PIXPRO S1 and PIXPRO AZ651 Astro Zoom digital cameras. It uses the OEM part number LB-070 and fits the same battery bay without modification. Capacity matches the original specification at 850mAh (6.29Wh).

Why the PIXPRO S1 shows a dead-battery indicator on a partially charged replacement cell

The PIXPRO S1 reads battery state by comparing real-time cell voltage against stored threshold values calibrated to the original LB-070 discharge curve. A new replacement cell sitting at storage charge — typically 3.7–3.8V per cell — can fall outside the camera's expected "charged" voltage window, triggering a low or empty indicator immediately on insert. This is a threshold mismatch, not a fault with the cell. Charge the replacement fully in the OEM charger first; once the cell reaches 4.2V per cell, the camera reads it correctly on next power-on.

Battery percentage jumping erratically on the PIXPRO AZ651 display mid-shoot

The AZ651's battery indicator does not read raw voltage — it uses a mapped lookup table tied to the discharge curve of a cycled cell. A new replacement cell has a slightly flatter mid-range discharge curve than a worn original, so the camera's firmware maps the same voltage to a different percentage point and the display jumps. Running one full charge-discharge cycle inside the camera body recalibrates the fuel gauge against the actual curve of the new cell. After that cycle, the indicator stabilises and tracks accurately through the remainder of each charge.
