Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Kodak PIXPRO S1 / AZ651 Astro Zoom — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (LB-070)
This is a 7.4V, 850mAh Li-ion replacement cell for the Kodak PIXPRO S1 and PIXPRO AZ651 Astro Zoom digital cameras. It uses the OEM part number LB-070 and fits the same battery bay without modification. Capacity matches the original specification at 850mAh (6.29Wh).
- PIXPRO S1 and AZ651 platform fit: These models share the same LB-070 battery footprint, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol — one cell covers both bodies without any adapter or wiring change.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the Kodak OEM charger and via in-body charging on the PIXPRO S1. The BMS accepted the cell on first insertion and battery-remaining display tracked correctly through the full discharge curve after one complete charge cycle.
- First-use charge cycle on the AZ651 Astro Zoom: The Astro Zoom's BMS maps battery percentage against a learned discharge curve. Run one full charge-to-depletion cycle inside the camera body or OEM charger before heavy shooting — this synchronises the fuel gauge so the indicator does not jump erratically between shots.
Why the PIXPRO S1 shows a dead-battery indicator on a partially charged replacement cell
The PIXPRO S1 reads battery state by comparing real-time cell voltage against stored threshold values calibrated to the original LB-070 discharge curve. A new replacement cell sitting at storage charge — typically 3.7–3.8V per cell — can fall outside the camera's expected "charged" voltage window, triggering a low or empty indicator immediately on insert. This is a threshold mismatch, not a fault with the cell. Charge the replacement fully in the OEM charger first; once the cell reaches 4.2V per cell, the camera reads it correctly on next power-on.
Battery percentage jumping erratically on the PIXPRO AZ651 display mid-shoot
The AZ651's battery indicator does not read raw voltage — it uses a mapped lookup table tied to the discharge curve of a cycled cell. A new replacement cell has a slightly flatter mid-range discharge curve than a worn original, so the camera's firmware maps the same voltage to a different percentage point and the display jumps. Running one full charge-discharge cycle inside the camera body recalibrates the fuel gauge against the actual curve of the new cell. After that cycle, the indicator stabilises and tracks accurately through the remainder of each charge.

Frequently Asked Questions
The PIXPRO S1 shows "no battery" immediately after inserting the new LB-070 — is the cell dead?
It is not dead. The camera's BMS runs a voltage authentication check on insertion, and a new cell at storage charge — around 3.7V — sits below the S1's minimum accepted threshold for a "charged" battery. Place the cell in the OEM charger until the charge indicator shows full, then reinsert. The camera will recognise it at 8.4V total (4.2V per cell).
Shot count on the AZ651 Astro Zoom is lower than expected — the battery depletes well before I finish a session.
The Astro Zoom's extended optical zoom mechanism draws significantly more current than a standard compact camera each time the lens extends, retracts, or hunts for focus. Add continuous autofocus and the rear LCD at full brightness and total draw climbs well beyond what the rated 850mAh implies under static conditions. To extend each charge, set the LCD brightness to mid-level, limit unnecessary zoom cycling between shots, and let autofocus lock before half-pressing the shutter.
The replacement LB-070 gets noticeably warm during in-body charging on the PIXPRO S1 — is that normal?
Mild warmth during in-body charging is normal for a Li-ion cell at 7.4V nominal. The S1 charges at a constant-current rate that generates some heat, and the camera body traps more of it than an open external charger does. If the body becomes uncomfortable to hold or the charge indicator cuts off early and the cell is not full, stop charging in-body and switch to the OEM external charger — it applies a more controlled charge taper and keeps cell temperature lower.
