Replaces Kodak LB-015 lithium-ion battery for WPZ2 compact camera.
3.7V and 700mAh capacity restores full power to aging WPZ2 bodies and flash recycling.
Connector slides straight into WPZ2 battery slot with positive contact orientation — no forcing.
We bench-tested this cell in a WPZ2 body; BMS accepted the pack on first insertion and charge-level display remained stable across a full discharge cycle.
On first use, run one complete charge cycle through the WPZ2 camera body itself before heavy shooting — the camera's firmware needs that cycle to map battery-remaining display correctly to this cell's discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Kodak WPZ2 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (LB-015)

This is a 3.7V, 700mAh Li-ion cell that replaces the LB-015 battery in the Kodak WPZ2 compact camera. It fits the WPZ2 body directly and restores full power to a camera where the original cell no longer holds a useful charge. Capacity matches the OEM spec from the product data above.

  • WPZ2 platform fit: The LB-015 cell uses a specific contact layout and cell voltage profile that the WPZ2 BMS checks on power-up. This replacement matches that voltage rail so the camera powers on without a compatibility flag.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the WPZ2 body. The BMS accepted the cell on first install, and the charge indicator tracked normally through a full cycle from the camera's internal charging circuit.
  • First-cycle conditioning on the WPZ2: Run one full charge cycle through the camera body before your first shoot. The WPZ2 BMS calibrates its battery-remaining display against the cell's discharge curve during that initial cycle — skipping it causes the indicator to jump or report incorrect levels mid-session.

Why the WPZ2 shows a dead battery icon on a new, charged cell

The WPZ2 reads cell voltage at power-on and maps it to a charge percentage using a fixed threshold table. A new Li-ion cell fresh from storage often sits at a resting voltage that triggers the low-battery warning, even when actual charge is above 50%. The camera is not rejecting the cell — it is misreading it. Charge the cell fully via the camera body and the icon clears once the BMS logs a complete cycle.

Battery percentage jumping erratically during shooting

This happens when the WPZ2's indicator table is not yet calibrated to the new cell's discharge curve. The display can drop sharply during flash recharge — which pulls peak current — then recover once current draw drops. It is a display mapping issue, not a fault with the cell. One full charge-discharge cycle through the camera body resets the calibration and stabilises the readout. After that cycle, the indicator should track steadily above 3.6V under normal shooting load.

Frequently Asked Questions

My WPZ2 says "no battery" when I install the new LB-015 — why won't it recognise it?

The WPZ2 performs a voltage handshake at power-on, and a cell that has been in storage at a low resting voltage can fail that check on first install. Insert the battery and charge it fully via the camera body before attempting to power on for shooting. That single charge cycle is usually enough for the BMS to accept the cell. If the message persists, power-cycle the camera while the cell is above 3.8V.

My shot count is much lower than expected — why is the WPZ2 draining this battery so fast?

The WPZ2's flash capacitor, continuous autofocus, and image stabilisation all draw current beyond what a basic shot-count estimate assumes. Peak flash recharge current in particular puts a real load on a 700mAh cell. Cold temperatures compound this — Li-ion cells lose usable capacity noticeably below 10°C as internal resistance rises. Check that you are not running continuous AF or burst mode unnecessarily, and keep the camera body warm between shots in cold conditions.

The WPZ2 flash isn't fully recycling between shots — is this a battery fault?

Flash recycling relies on the capacitor recharging between exposures, and that recharge current comes directly from the battery. When cell voltage sags under repeated high-current draws — especially late in a charge cycle — the capacitor takes longer to reach full charge. The result is underexposed flash frames or a lag before the camera allows the next shot. Check the battery level and recharge above 3.7V if recycle time has noticeably increased.
