Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Kyvol Cybovac S31 — 14.4V Li-ion 5200mAh Replacement Battery

This 14.4V Li-ion battery replaces the original power cell in the Kyvol Cybovac S31 robotic vacuum cleaner. Rated at 5200mAh (74.88Wh), it restores the cleaning cycles the vacuum needs to cover a full floor plan and return to dock. Fits both listed Cybovac S31 variants.

  • Cybovac S31 compatibility: Both S31 variants run the same 14.4V battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol — one cell covers the full model range listed.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full discharge cycles on the S31 platform. The BMS handshake completed without error codes, and the charger accepted the cell without modification.
  • Dock charging habit for the S31: The S31 is designed to sit on its dock between cleans, but leaving it docked continuously accelerates capacity fade. Charge to full, then remove the vacuum from the dock if it won't run again for several days.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low on the S31

The S31 motor draws significantly more current when the filter is partially blocked or the brush roll is restricted. At elevated draw, cell voltage sags below the motor controller's threshold before the fuel gauge registers low — so the vacuum loses suction power while the indicator still reads mid-charge. This is a voltage-sag issue, not a capacity issue. Clean the filter and check the brush roll before concluding the battery is at fault.

Motor cutting out mid-clean and then recovering after a pause

This pattern is a BMS overcurrent trip — sustained high current draw from a blocked suction path or clogged filter pushes the cell beyond its discharge rate limit, and the BMS shuts output off to protect the cell. After a short pause the BMS resets and the motor restarts. The fix is not the battery. Remove and wash the filter, clear any debris from the inlet, then retest. If the cutout persists with a clean filter, check that cell voltage under load stays above 12V.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Kyvol Cybovac S31 seems to run for much less time than it used to — is the filter causing it?

Yes, a partially blocked filter forces the motor to draw more current than rated, which drains the cell faster without any change in battery capacity. Remove and wash the HEPA filter, let it dry completely, then run a full clean cycle. If runtime improves noticeably, the filter was the cause — not the battery.

The S31 cuts out mid-clean, pauses, then starts again on its own — what's happening?

The BMS is tripping on overcurrent, which happens when restricted airflow makes the motor labour harder than the cell's discharge rate allows. Clear the brush roll, empty the dustbin, and wash the filter. If the cutout stops, the restriction was the trigger — the BMS reset will complete on its own once current draw drops back within range.

The Cybovac S31 battery faded quickly after I replaced it — could continuous dock charging be the cause?

It is a common cause. Leaving the S31 on the dock permanently exposes the cell to continuous trickle charge, which degrades lithium-ion cells faster than normal charge-discharge cycling. Charge the vacuum fully after each use, then remove it from the dock if it won't run again within a day or two. Check cell voltage with a multimeter — a healthy fully-charged 14.4V Li-ion pack should read at least 16.4V.
