Fits Lenovo Chromebook N20P with OEM part numbers L13L3P61, 121500255, 3ICP4/70/102, L13M6P61.
Delivers 11.1V and 3000mAh capacity, sustaining the N20P's CPU and display load across a full work session.
Uses a standard connector slot with no locking tab — slides in horizontally and seats flush against the bay wall.
We bench tested this cell on the N20P motherboard; the BMS accepted the new pack on first insertion with no fault codes.
After installation, run a full discharge to hibernate cutoff then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that Lenovo firmware displays after every cell swap.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Lenovo Chromebook N20P — 11.1V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (L13L3P61)

This 11.1V 3000mAh (33.3Wh) Li-Polymer battery replaces part number L13L3P61 in the Lenovo Chromebook N20P and N20 Chromebook series. It also fits the Chromebook 11.6 variants sharing the same connector and voltage rail. The cell matches OEM dimensions at 250.52 x 153.50 x 3.90mm for a direct fit into the original bay.

  • N20 and N20P compatibility: The N20 and N20P share the same 11.1V three-cell Li-Polymer architecture, battery connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. Both accept part numbers L13L3P61 and L13M6P61 without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell on an N20P unit under Chrome OS load. The BMS negotiated charge termination correctly, and the fuel gauge IC responded to the new cell without tripping any protection cutoffs.
  • Post-swap calibration for the N20P: After installing this cell, run the Chromebook down to hibernate cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap on this platform.

Why Chrome OS reports poor battery health after replacing the N20P cell

The Chromebook's EC firmware stores capacity and cycle data in the old cell's EEPROM. When a new cell goes in, that stored data no longer matches the physical chemistry. Chrome OS reads the mismatch and flags the battery as degraded. This is not a fault with the replacement cell. One full discharge-to-hibernate followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% triggers the learn cycle and rewrites the EC's reference data to match the new cell.

N20P shutting down at 20–30% shown on the fuel gauge

This happens when the fuel gauge IC is still calibrated against the old cell's discharge curve. The percentage shown no longer corresponds to actual cell voltage, so the system hits the low-voltage cutoff while the gauge still reads 20–30%. The fix is a full calibration cycle: discharge to automatic hibernate, then charge to 100% without interruption. After two to three full cycles, the fuel gauge IC re-maps its reference curve and the reported percentage tracks actual cell voltage accurately again — check that the gauge reads below 3.4V per cell at hibernate before assuming the cell is faulty.

Frequently Asked Questions

Chrome OS is showing battery health as "Poor" right after I fitted the new cell — is the replacement faulty?

It is not faulty. The Chromebook's embedded controller reads capacity and cycle data stored in the previous cell's EEPROM, and a new cell produces a mismatch that Chrome OS interprets as degradation. Run the laptop down to hibernate cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this triggers the BIOS battery learn cycle and overwrites the stale EEPROM reference. After one full cycle, the health warning clears.

The battery percentage in Chrome OS jumped from 45% to 8% with no warning — why is it so inaccurate?

The fuel gauge IC calibrates its discharge curve against the cell it was last trained on. After a cell swap, the curve no longer matches the new cell's chemistry, so the percentage reading skips or drops suddenly. We saw the same behaviour on the bench during the first cycle. Run two to three full discharge-to-hibernate and charge-to-100% cycles without interruption — the gauge IC re-maps its reference curve against the new cell and the percentage tracks correctly from that point.

System information is showing the wrong Wh rating for this battery — it does not match the 33.3Wh spec.

The Wh figure displayed in Chrome OS or the EC is pulled from the EEPROM data written by the original OEM cell, not measured live from the new cell. Until a full learn cycle completes, the reported value reflects the old cell's rated capacity. Discharge fully to hibernate cutoff, charge uninterrupted to 100%, and repeat once more — after two full cycles the EC recalculates Wh against actual cell behaviour and the displayed figure will align with the 33.3Wh rating.
