Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Lenovo ThinkPad L13 / L13 Yoga — 15.36V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (02DL030)
This is a 15.36V, 2850mAh (43.78Wh) Li-Polymer battery for the Lenovo ThinkPad L13 and ThinkPad L13 Yoga ultrabook series. It replaces OEM part numbers including 02DL030, L18M4P90, L18D4P90, and SB10T83119, among others. The cell fits the slim 5.36mm battery bay used across the L13 and L13 Yoga lineup, including the 20R4 and 20R6 chassis variants.
- ThinkPad L13 and L13 Yoga compatibility: The 20R4 and 20R6 chassis share the same four-cell Li-Polymer configuration, voltage rail, and connector pinout. The BMS on both platforms reads the same EEPROM data structure, so the same cell works across both the standard clamshell and the Yoga convertible variants without hardware modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on a ThinkPad L13 unit. The BMS accepted the cell without error flags, charge termination triggered correctly at full capacity, and the protection circuit responded as expected to load spikes from the CPU during stress testing.
- Post-install calibration on ThinkPad L13: After fitting this cell, run one full discharge to hibernate-cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears in Lenovo Vantage after every cell swap.
BIOS reporting poor battery health immediately after fitting a new cell
The ThinkPad BIOS stores battery health data in EEPROM on the old cell. When you swap the cell, the BIOS reads zero cycle history and flags it as degraded or unknown — it has no reference point yet. This is not a fault with the replacement cell. Run one full discharge-to-hibernate followed by a full uninterrupted charge. After two to three cycles, the BIOS recalibrates and the health indicator clears.
Laptop shuts down at 20–30% charge shown on the fuel gauge
This happens when the fuel gauge IC has not yet calibrated against the new cell's actual voltage curve. The IC is still mapping discharge against the old cell's degraded profile, so it misjudges the voltage cliff and trips a shutdown early. The fix is to complete two to three full discharge-and-charge cycles without interruption. After calibration, the gauge tracks correctly and shutdown aligns with the true low-voltage cutoff at approximately 12.0V under load.

Frequently Asked Questions
Lenovo Vantage is showing my brand-new L13 battery as "poor health" — is the cell actually faulty?
It's almost always the BIOS reading stale EEPROM data from the old cell, not a fault in the new one. The ThinkPad firmware has no cycle history for the replacement and flags it as degraded by default. Run one full discharge to hibernate-cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. After two to three cycles the BIOS battery learn cycle resets and the health status clears.
My ThinkPad L13 is shutting itself down when the taskbar still shows 25% remaining — what's happening?
The fuel gauge IC is still using the voltage discharge curve from the old degraded cell. When the new cell hits a voltage point the IC associates with near-empty on the old cell, it triggers an early shutdown. This is a calibration gap, not a hardware fault. Complete two full uninterrupted discharge-to-hibernate and recharge cycles and the gauge will track the new cell's actual curve, with shutdown moving to the correct low-voltage threshold around 12.0V.
System information is showing the wrong Wh rating — it says something different from 43.78Wh — should I be concerned?
The Wh value displayed in Windows or in the BIOS comes from EEPROM data written at the factory, which reflects the rated chemistry specification rather than the measured capacity of your specific cell. A small variance between the displayed figure and 43.78Wh is normal and does not affect how the battery charges or discharges. If the figure shown is dramatically different — more than 5Wh off — run a full calibration cycle and check again. If it persists, cross-reference the OEM part number against 02DL030 to confirm the correct cell was installed.
