Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Lenovo Yoga 520-12 — 11.52V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (L17L3P61)
This 11.52V, 3100mAh lithium-polymer cell replaces the original internal battery in the Lenovo Yoga 520-12 and Yoga 520 12 convertible notebooks. It also fits the IdeaPad 320S-13IKB and 7000-13 series. Cross-references OEM part numbers L17L3P61, L17M3P61, and L17C3P61.
- Yoga 520 and IdeaPad 320S platform fit: These models share the same 11.52V three-cell Li-Polymer configuration, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — which is why a single replacement cell covers the full lineup without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on a Yoga 520-12 unit. The BMS accepted the cell without rejecting the handshake, charge current ramped correctly through CC/CV stages, and the protection circuit tripped cleanly at the low-voltage cutoff threshold.
- Post-install recalibration for Yoga 520: After fitting the new cell, run one full discharge to hibernate-cutoff — do not interrupt it — then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears on the first boot after every cell swap.
Why the Yoga 520 shuts down at 20–30% after a battery swap
The BIOS fuel gauge IC maps discharge curves against data stored from the previous cell. When a new cell goes in, those stored curves no longer match the actual chemistry, so the gauge miscalculates remaining capacity and triggers shutdown well before the cell is empty. The fix is a calibration cycle: discharge fully to hibernate-cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. After two to three cycles, the fuel gauge recalibrates against the new cell and the early shutdown stops. Do not rely on the percentage readout until those cycles are complete.
BIOS reporting wrong Wh rating after fitting the replacement cell
The Wh figure shown in Lenovo Vantage or the BIOS battery screen is pulled from EEPROM data embedded in the battery pack — not measured in real time. A replacement cell may carry EEPROM values that differ slightly from the original OEM pack, causing the system to display a Wh rating that does not match the label on the new cell. This does not affect how the battery charges or discharges. To verify actual capacity, let the cell complete two full calibration cycles and check the full-charge capacity figure in Lenovo Vantage — it should read close to 35.71Wh once the fuel gauge has settled.

Frequently Asked Questions
The Yoga 520 shows "plugged in, not charging" at 80% — is the new battery faulty?
Not a battery fault. Lenovo's BIOS includes a charge-limit feature that caps charging at 80% to reduce cell wear — it ships enabled on many units. Open Lenovo Vantage, go to Power → Battery Settings, and switch from "Conservation Mode" to "Normal Mode." The cell will then charge to 100%.
After fitting the replacement, Lenovo Vantage shows battery health as "Poor" on the first boot — what causes that?
The health rating is generated from EEPROM data carried over from the old cell and stored in the system's battery learn cycle. It does not reflect the new cell's actual condition. Run one full discharge to hibernate-cutoff followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100%. After that cycle, the BIOS resets its health assessment against the new cell's data.
The capacity readout jumps around wildly — showing 60%, then 45%, then 55% within minutes. What is happening?
The fuel gauge IC is still referencing discharge curves from the old cell. Until it builds new calibration data against the replacement chemistry, the percentage output is unreliable. Run two complete discharge-to-hibernate and charge-to-100% cycles without interruption. After the second cycle, the gauge output stabilises and tracks actual remaining capacity accurately.
