Fits LG GC900, GC900e, GT950, GT505 and 18 other models; replaces LGIP-580N, SBPL0098001, SBPL0098701.
3.7V, 900mAh capacity restores full charge cycles on this 2000s-era smartphone after original cell degradation.
Connector seats flush into the GC900 battery slot with no locking tab; orientation marked on cell itself.
We bench-tested this cell across charge and discharge cycles; the fuel gauge IC tracked voltage curve without early lockout.
On first use, run one complete discharge-charge cycle without fast charging to let the phone's coulomb counter recalibrate to this cell's discharge profile.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

LG GC900 / GT950 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (LGIP-580N)

This is a 3.7V, 900mAh Li-ion cell replacing the LGIP-580N battery in the LG GC900, GC900e, GT950, GT505, and 18 additional models. It fits the same physical footprint and connector as the original. Capacity is 900mAh (3.33Wh), matching the stock specification.

  • GC900 / GT950 platform fit: These models share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. One cell covers the full compatibility list without any modification to the battery contacts or housing.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell on a GC900 unit and confirmed the BMS accepted the charge curve without tripping cutoff. The protection circuit responded correctly to over-discharge and over-current conditions at both the charge and discharge rails.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After installation, run one full discharge down to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% before using the device normally. This gives the phone's coulomb counter a complete reference curve against the new cell — skipping this step is why most users see percentage jumps in the first few days.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the GC900 after a cell swap

The GC900's fuel gauge IC uses a stored discharge curve from the original cell to predict remaining capacity. A new cell has a slightly different voltage-to-capacity profile, so the IC can misread voltage and trigger shutdown before the cell is actually empty. This shows up most often when the modem fires a high-current burst — screen-on during a call or data transfer. The fix is one complete discharge-charge cycle with no fast charge. After that cycle, the coulomb counter recalibrates and the early shutdown stops.

Phone not powering on after the replacement battery sat in storage

Li-ion cells self-discharge in storage. If the LGIP-580N replacement cell dropped below approximately 2.5V per cell while sitting unused, the BMS will lock out to prevent damage — and the phone will show no response at all when you press power. Connect the phone to a wall charger, not a PC USB port, and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing anything. The charge IC needs to push a trickle current through the locked-out BMS to bring cell voltage back above the recovery threshold. Once the charging indicator appears on screen, the BMS has re-initialised and normal charging resumes.

Frequently Asked Questions

The GC900 shows 25% battery then shuts off instantly — is that a bad cell?

Not necessarily a bad cell. The fuel gauge IC on the GC900 is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve, so it misreads the voltage cliff on the new cell and cuts power early. Run one full discharge to automatic shutdown, then charge to 100% without interruption. After that single calibration cycle, the coulomb counter resets its reference and the early shutdown should stop.

My GC900 is showing battery percentage jumping around erratically after I fitted the new cell — what's happening?

The phone's fuel gauge IC lost its reference data when the old cell was removed, and it's now estimating capacity without a complete discharge curve to anchor to. This is normal behaviour in the first one or two cycles after a cell swap. Complete one full discharge-charge cycle — no fast charge, no partial top-ups — and the IC will settle. Percentage readings stabilise once the coulomb counter has a full curve to work from.

The phone feels warm near the battery during the first charge after fitting the new cell — should I stop charging?

Mild warmth on the first charge is expected. A new cell typically has slightly higher internal impedance than a broken-in cell, so the charge IC pushes a bit more voltage to maintain the target current, generating extra heat. If the phone stays warm but not hot to the touch, continue charging. If it becomes uncomfortable to hold or the phone displays a temperature warning, disconnect and let it cool to room temperature before reconnecting at a lower-current source such as a 5W wall adapter.
