Fits the Telstra GC900f smartphone and replaces the original 3.7V lithium-ion cell.
3.7V nominal voltage with 900mAh capacity delivers the charge density this compact touchscreen device requires for cellular and standby operation.
Connector slides straight into the GC900f battery slot with a single locking tab on the left edge — no adapter needed.
We cycled this cell through three full discharge-charge runs on a GC900f test unit; the BMS accepted voltage ramps cleanly with no early cutoff or thermal drift.
On first use after installation, run one complete discharge-charge cycle without enabling fast charging — this lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell's discharge curve before high-current operation.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Telstra GC900f — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This 3.7V, 900mAh Li-ion cell replaces the original battery in the LG GC900f (sold under the Telstra brand). It fits both the GC900f and GC-900f variants. The cell matches the original voltage rail and physical dimensions — 46.86 × 37.01 × 5.39mm — for a direct fit in the battery bay.

  • GC900f and GC-900f compatibility: Both model designations refer to the same hardware platform. They share an identical battery bay, connector pinout, and charge IC interface — this cell works across both without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and load on the GC900f platform. The BMS accepted the cell without a handshake error, and the charge IC completed a full cycle without thermal cutoff or early termination.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After fitting this cell, run one full discharge to automatic shutdown before recharging. The GC900f's fuel gauge IC was calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve — skipping this step causes the percentage readout to drift or jump erratically during normal use.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the GC900f after a cell swap

The GC900f shuts down mid-use — not because the cell is empty, but because it cannot hold voltage under the combined load of the modem radio and screen backlight. A new cell with a slightly different internal resistance curve hits a voltage cliff the BMS reads as a cutoff condition before the fuel gauge catches up. This is common in the first two or three cycles on a replacement cell. Running one complete discharge-charge cycle without interruption lets the coulomb counter resync to the new cell's actual capacity and resistance profile. After that, shutdowns at 20–30% reported charge should stop.

Phone feels warm near the battery compartment during first charge

A new high-impedance cell dissipates more heat during the constant-current phase of charging than a worn cell does. On the GC900f, the charge IC doesn't reduce current for a new cell — it pushes the same current it used on the degraded original. This is normal for the first one or two cycles and not a sign of a faulty cell. If warmth continues past the third full charge, check that the battery contacts are clean and making full contact — a dirty contact increases resistance and adds heat at the interface point.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does my GC900f show a different battery percentage straight after fitting the new cell?

The fuel gauge IC on the GC900f stores a discharge curve mapped to the old cell — it has no data for the new one yet. Until it recalibrates, the percentage readout will be off, sometimes significantly. Run one full discharge to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. After that single cycle, the coulomb counter will have enough data to report accurately.

The GC900f powers on, drops to 1%, then shuts off — did the new battery arrive flat?

Batteries stored for extended periods can discharge below the BMS lockout threshold — typically under 2.5V per cell. When voltage drops that low, the BMS cuts output to prevent cell damage, and the phone cannot start a normal boot. Connect the phone to a wall charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button — the charge IC needs time to trickle current into the cell before the BMS re-enables output. Once voltage recovers above 3.0V, the phone will boot normally.

My GC900f battery percentage jumps around — goes from 45% to 70% and back without charging. Is the cell faulty?

This is a fuel gauge IC recalibration issue, not a faulty cell. The internal resistance of a new cell differs from the worn original, so the IC's voltage-to-capacity lookup table produces inconsistent readings until it has observed a full discharge cycle. Complete one uninterrupted discharge down to automatic shutdown, then charge fully to 100% without pulling the charger early. The erratic jumping should resolve after that cycle.
