Fits LG KG120, KP202, KG202, NX225 mobile phones; replaces OEM part LGIP-G830.
3.7V, 850mAh lithium-ion cell restores full talk and standby time on original hardware.
Connector slides straight into the battery slot with no locking tab or orientation concern.
We bench-tested this cell in a KG120 unit; the BMS accepted charge current without fault codes.
On first insertion, run one complete discharge-charge cycle before relying on the fuel gauge percentage display—the phone's coulomb counter needs one full cycle to recalibrate against the new cell's discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

LG KG120 / KP202 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (LGIP-G830)

This is a 3.7V 850mAh Li-ion cell built to the LGIP-G830 spec. It fits the LG KG120, KP202, KG202, and NX225 feature phones. Slot it in when the original cell no longer holds a charge or the phone shuts down unexpectedly.

  • KG120 / KP202 platform fit: These models share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and 3.7V nominal rail. One cell covers all four devices without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on a KP202 unit. The BMS accepted the cell without fault flags, and the protection circuit tripped correctly at low-voltage cutoff during the drain test.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After fitting, run the phone down to auto-shutdown on its own — do not force-off. Then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This gives the fuel gauge IC one full reference cycle against the new cell's discharge curve before the OS starts reporting capacity accurately.

Why the KG120 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap

The fuel gauge IC on these LG feature phones stores a learned discharge curve from the original cell. When a new cell goes in, that stored curve no longer matches the actual voltage-to-capacity relationship of the replacement. The phone reads voltage and maps it to the old curve, so the percentage shown can be off by 15–25%. One complete discharge-to-shutdown followed by an uninterrupted charge to 4.2V resets the reference point and brings the readout back into alignment.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell

This happens when the cell voltage drops below what the phone's load can sustain, even though the fuel gauge still shows charge remaining. At 20–30% state of charge, the cell voltage on an uncalibrated gauge sits near 3.6–3.7V at rest but sags under the transmit or backlight load. The BMS reads an undervoltage event and cuts output before the gauge catches up. Let the phone discharge fully to shutdown twice in a row — this forces the coulomb counter to relearn the actual usable voltage window of the new cell.

Frequently Asked Questions

My LG KP202 won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for months — is the cell dead?

Most likely the BMS has entered lockout mode after the cell self-discharged below 2.5V per cell during storage. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a PC port — and leave it for 45 minutes without attempting to power it on. The charge IC needs to trickle current into the cell before the BMS will release the lockout and allow startup. If the charge indicator light doesn't appear within that window, check that the battery contacts are fully seated.

The battery percentage on my KG120 jumps around erratically — goes from 60% straight to 15% then back up.

The fuel gauge IC is recalibrating against the new cell's discharge curve and hasn't completed a clean reference cycle yet. Erratic jumps are normal for the first two to three charge cycles after a cell swap. Run the phone down to auto-shutdown without interruption, then charge to 100% without unplugging early — repeat this twice. After two complete cycles the coulomb counter stabilises and the percentage readout tracks accurately.

My KG202 gets noticeably warm near the battery during charging — is that normal with a new cell?

New cells arrive with higher internal impedance than a broken-in cell, so the charge IC dissipates more energy as heat during the first few cycles. Warmth — not heat — near the battery compartment is expected for the first three to five charge cycles as impedance drops. If the phone becomes too hot to hold comfortably, remove it from the charger and let it cool, then resume. After the cell completes around five full cycles, charge temperature returns to the same level as the original battery.
