Fits LG LN700, LN704, LN705, LN710 GPS navigators; replaces OEM part number EAC30173401.
3.7V, 1100mAh lithium-ion cell delivers enough charge for typical navigation sessions on these compact handheld units.
Connector seats into the battery slot with a single flat-pin contact; no locking tab — slides straight in and out.
We bench-tested this cell in an LN700 unit; BMS accepted the new pack on first insertion with no fault codes or voltage hesitation.
After installing this cell, power the GPS fully on outdoors and let it acquire satellite fix before navigation use — cold start after power loss takes 5–10 minutes versus under one minute on warm restarts.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

LG LN700 / LN710 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (EAC30173401)

This is a 3.7V, 1100mAh Li-ion cell built to the EAC30173401 spec for LG portable GPS navigators. It fits the LN700, LN704, LN705, and LN710 series, along with four additional LG navigator models that share the same connector and voltage rail. Swap it in when your unit no longer holds a charge or powers off unexpectedly during navigation.

  • LN700 / LN704 / LN705 / LN710 series fit: These models share the EAC30173401 footprint, connector pinout, and 3.7V single-cell architecture. The BMS on each accepts this cell without a handshake conflict.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran charge and discharge cycles on this cell and confirmed the protection circuit trips correctly at over-voltage and under-voltage thresholds. Cell temperature stayed within spec throughout.
  • First-fix cold start after fitting: After installing this battery, power the unit on outdoors with a clear sky view. The GPS performs a full cold start after any complete power loss — first satellite acquisition takes 5–10 minutes. Subsequent warm starts drop back under a minute once the almanac data is re-cached.

GPS accuracy reduced at low battery on the LN700

When the cell drops toward the low-voltage cutoff, some LG navigator firmware reduces receiver sensitivity to extend operating time. The unit stays on, but satellite count drops and position error increases — often showing the device half a block off. This is a firmware-level power-saving behaviour, not a GPS hardware fault. Keeping the cell above 3.5V during active navigation avoids this sensitivity reduction entirely.

LN700 shuts off without warning before the battery indicator hits empty

An aged or deeply discharged cell loses its ability to accurately report state-of-charge to the fuel gauge circuit. The display may show two or three bars remaining when the cell voltage actually hits the BMS cutoff threshold and the unit drops dead. This is a calibration drift issue — the gauge was last calibrated on a cell that no longer behaves the same way. After fitting the new battery, run two full charge-to-discharge cycles to let the gauge re-calibrate; the indicator will then track actual voltage more accurately.

Frequently Asked Questions

My LG LN700 lost all my saved routes after I swapped the battery — is that normal?

Yes. The LN700 stores some route and POI data in battery-backed RAM, and a full power removal wipes that volatile memory. Data saved to the internal flash — favourites, home address — usually survives, but active routes and recent destinations stored in RAM do not. Before any battery swap, export your routes via the device's save or backup function if the firmware supports it, or note them manually.

Satellite lock is taking 5–10 minutes on my LN700 after the battery replacement — something wrong?

Nothing is wrong. Removing the battery triggers a cold start, which forces the GPS receiver to re-download satellite almanac and ephemeris data from scratch. That process takes 5–10 minutes outdoors with a clear sky view. Once the unit completes one full fix and caches the almanac, warm starts on subsequent power cycles drop back to under a minute.

My LG LN700 drains noticeably faster during turn-by-turn navigation than when I leave it in standby — why?

Active navigation runs the GPS receiver, the routing processor, and the display simultaneously — all three at sustained load. Standby cuts the display and reduces receiver polling frequency, dropping current draw significantly. Screen brightness is the biggest variable you can control: reducing it to 50% during daytime navigation cuts display current draw noticeably. If drain still seems excessive, check that the backlight timer is not set to "always on" in the display settings.
