Fits LG VS840, Lucid, and Cayman phones — replaces OEM battery BL-44JS.
This 3.7V, 1200mAh lithium-ion cell restores full runtime on the VS840 after original capacity degradation.
Connector matches OEM contact layout; slides into stock battery slot without modification.
We bench-tested against a discharged OEM pack — BMS accepted full charge cycle without early cutoff or thermal drift.
On first power-on after installation, complete one full discharge-to-shutdown cycle before normal use — the phone's fuel gauge IC needs to recalibrate against this cell's discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

LG VS840 Lucid Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BL-44JS)

This is a 3.7V, 1200mAh Li-ion cell that fits the LG VS840, Lucid, Lucid 4G, and Cayman. It replaces OEM part numbers BL-44JS, EAC61838702, BL-A5JN, and EAC61680101. If your original cell has swollen, won't hold a charge, or the phone shuts down unpredictably, this is the direct swap.

  • VS840 and Lucid platform fit: The VS840, Lucid, and Cayman share the same battery bay geometry, connector orientation, and voltage rail. All of these models accept the BL-44JS form factor without modification to the housing or contacts.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and load cycles on the VS840 platform. The BMS accepted the new cell without handshake errors, and the charge IC brought the cell up from a depleted state without triggering thermal cutoff.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first cycle: After fitting this cell, run one full discharge down to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% before using the phone heavily. This lets the VS840's fuel gauge IC map its coulomb counter to the new cell's actual discharge curve — skipping this step causes the percentage display to drift or jump in the first several days of use.

Why the VS840 reports the wrong battery percentage after a cell swap

The VS840's fuel gauge IC stores a charge profile calibrated to the original cell's internal resistance and capacity fade. When a new cell goes in, that stored profile no longer matches the actual discharge curve. The IC will over- or under-report state of charge until it re-learns the new cell. One full discharge-to-shutdown followed by an uninterrupted charge cycle resets the coulomb counter and forces a fresh calibration pass.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the new cell

This happens when the modem or display draws a current spike and the cell voltage drops below the BMS cutoff threshold — even though the OS still shows 20–30% remaining. On the VS840, the fuel gauge hasn't yet mapped the voltage cliff of the new cell, so it doesn't warn the OS in time. The fix is the same calibration cycle: one complete drain to shutdown, then a full charge. After that cycle, the OS receives accurate low-battery warnings before the voltage cliff hits.

Frequently Asked Questions

My LG VS840 shuts off at around 25% after I put in the new battery — is the cell faulty?

The cell is almost certainly fine. The VS840's fuel gauge IC is still reading from the old cell's stored discharge profile, so it doesn't flag the voltage drop in time to warn the OS before the BMS cuts power. Run one complete drain to automatic shutdown, then charge straight to 100% without interrupting. After that single calibration cycle, the shutdowns at 25% typically stop.

The VS840 won't power on at all after the replacement battery sat unused in a drawer — what's happening?

A Li-ion cell that sits discharged for weeks can drop below 2.5V per cell, which triggers BMS lockout to prevent damage. The phone won't respond to a normal power press in this state. Connect it to a wall charger — not a PC USB port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without touching it. The charge IC will trickle current into the cell to bring it above the BMS re-enable threshold, after which normal charging resumes.

The battery percentage on my VS840 jumps erratically — it reads 60%, then suddenly 80%, then drops to 45%.

This is the fuel gauge IC recalibrating against the new cell's actual charge curve. It has no accurate baseline yet, so the coulomb counter corrects itself in visible jumps as it gathers discharge data. It is not a sign of a defective cell. Complete two full discharge-and-charge cycles and the percentage display will stabilise as the IC locks onto the new curve.
